Dinner's in the crock for tonight... Carnitas verde that'll wind up going into enchiladas and then being portioned up and frozen for lunches...

Then again, it's not really Mexican - SDFD has me inspired to get a bit more "old school." The green sauce is straight for Apicius and the "torillas" are better described as panpatinae and the cheese involved is some locally made "grana padano" - which is of equal vintage to the recipe for the sauce. My main deviation is using hing instead of silphium... other than that, it's Roman bar food.

And no, my nostrils are up for being fisted... but not being fucked. Sorry to disappoint. And the reference was to something else...

BTW - anyone know where I can find this cologne called "Maitresse"? ;)

Mmm I think I have several packets of carnitas in the freezer left over from making them not too long ago. Although I prefer my traditional red sauce kicked up with a scotch bonnet, some chipotles and a pinch of.....nutmeg. Sounds kooky but it really does something and no one can ever figure out the secret ingredient. I have a Sonoma Jack cheese in the fridge as well. Mmmm Pork!

Mean while some of the left over rib roast is in the crock with the seasonings to make Italian beef. It's all I could smell when I walked in this afternoon. Smells delish. So I'm saving the Sonoma Jack for that.

Fisted...fucked...just a difference of girth really pfft.

Maitresse is a very very special and unique blend in and of itself. Only a very special few have been allowed to wear it.

Well, you and I must be on the same mental waves... believe me, I am going to miss those unspoken delicacies for a while.

In honor of KMsAngel saying that it's a hard limit for her: I MUST have SPAM this evening in addition to the wee bit I had with breakfast. And since my grocer down the street got taros in, I might just have to make some poi to go with it...

Now, if only I could get someone to come over with the grass skirts, I'd be sorted... ;)

I could swing a grass skirt or two, but I'm not sure how much you'd feel like eating after watching a hairy buddha-shaped guy swinging his hips around.

Tonight I'm going veggie. I think I've had all the beef I can handle this week. (I can't believe I actually said that, no pun intended). So a nice portobello cap brushed with some of the infused olive oil I just did last weekend. Then stuffed with the diced stipe, some panko, carmelized Maui onion, some leftover asparagus and topped with a nice melty tag cheese. There's still a bit of bread salad left from yesterday's lunch on the side.

I was looking for something different but easy to do with porkchops, so I tried a recipe from the internet. Pork chops baked with ketchup, brown sugar, and Coke. Scalloped potatoes, and corn on the cob. And, since this is the South, enough sweet iced tea to float a small boat.

For snack later tonight, will have some red pepper hummus and pita bread.
