I tire rather quickly of pissing matches because they generally involve circular logic.. although I cannot help myself sometimes of trying to win a debate. I am an Aries you see, and we just can't stop ourselves from throwing our heads against the walls... my virtual horns are getting a little sore.

I think we all have had the inability to not be able to back down.. but as long as we do not call names its all good.

I am an Aries as well, and can be on the stubborn side... but if I feel strongly about something, I will stand up for what I believe in... in a civil manner.

Debate, passionate views, opposing opinions, and artticulate discussion are a part of any message board worth reading.  How interesting would it be to read a board full of... 'yes, I agree', 'I second what he just said', etc.

Often the debate can include personal attacks, and that's when enough is enough.  If someone says 'I think you are wrong' and presents whatever their views are on the matter.... that's great, but when someone says 'I think you are wrong, and  stupid and ugly'... that's not worth reading.

Yer all suckin' wind. I have a six-pack of Hershey bars, a new jar of Jif peanut butter, and a fridge pack of Tab. Heaven, right here. All mine. If you ask nicely I might pretend like I'm going to share (but I won't).

... unless ... you gimme some of those cookies in trade ...

Must resist cookie marketing ploy.  But the subliminals are just not fair!  I shall defend myself with cucumber and watermelon and tuna, oh my!

Listen, if God had wanted you to defend yourself, he would have made cucumbers, watermelons and tuna grow out of your arms.  Therefore, evolution cannot be true, and you're a dirty, stinking liberal if you reply to this.

Yours,

benji

Edited because my spelling was wrong, which again proves creationism.

And more paganist bullshit.  LaTigresse, where do you get off on professing someone to be a mindreader?  According to Genesis, 5:14  "And thus, there can be no linguist of the soul, as there can be only one God."

See?  That proves it.

I don't know where you get your info, but I suggest time traveling that book back to the Nazis for a good old book burning.

Yours,

benji

As for me, well, I'm always right and don't have to prove it to anyone.  It should be common knowledge.

this is just your perception of reality, and the funny thing is, not everyone lives in your reality, the fact that you would assume so much in turn gives me the right to assume that your reality is slightly skewered to the left, where i am going to be firmly planted on the right with a big stack of cookies, and since the right is in my reality and not yours, then you don't get any untill you agree that my reality is better than your reality based on the simple fact that it has cookies.

cheshire

The thing is I don't care who lives in my reality.  I live there and that makes it and me right.  Sigh...do I have to repeat everything?

What is the cookie reality of which you speak?  If I've never heard of it, it must not exist.  My reality consists of rolling green hills, babbling brooks, pink sky, purple and yellow butterflies and lots of people skipping along merrily.  Oh...and m&m's with a diet coke chaser.  Although, I might go sit nice and quiet like next to MmakeMme and see if she'll share her Hershey's and peanut butter.

SirKenin  - you may or may not be right.  That is debatable.  However, as 4 out of the 5 voices in your head of said you are not schizophrenic , then I would have to agree.  Majority rules.

MistressLorelei - I agree. One should defend his/her position.  However, with some people it is a moot point.  Some people are only interested in twisting your words around and name calling and the same things are repeated over and over and over and over...you get the point.  And it boils down to "I'm right and you're wrong".  "No, I'm right and you're wrong."  That is why this thread was started.

So what you're saying is that repetition is not a good way of learning?

Now, I think if you read that you'll agree.  I'm right and you're wrong.

Two very different issues, benji.  Repetition is good for memorizing, learning to put names with faces, for example.  When you are just trying to prove  your point and keep repeating the same things over and over it has the same effect as one pounding one's head against a brick wall.  You are partially right.  But not completely.  Nice try, though.  You get an "E" for effort.
