It used to be (and still is for the most part) my marks tended to mostly disappear within 2 days, aside from what I call angry stretch marks (Im covered in them). Stretch marks on me get insanely red really fast. The generalized red areas from warm up tend to disappear in 30 mins.
Now my marks disappear completely within 2 weeks, but that I know is because I play a lot harder than I did earlier in the year, often, even with imapact play, to blood. I have my first scars (no bruises from that scene on my back though), thanks to a rattan cane and my friend's fingernails. (I heal fast, and scar faster.) For bruising, I've found a rubber slapper I have works great, getting me to bruise on my back, which up until my last scene, seemed to have the resistance to bruising as if it were made of kevlar, but the slapper made quick work of that. It takes a lot to get me to mark, and I welt and cut faster than I bruise for the most part, even with thuddy instruments, and the welts usually never leave bruises, although a cracking singletail will make short work of any hide (done by a professional who knew what he is doing). My ass bruises easier than my back, but not by much. It is my breasts that bruise easily and rather dark when flogged heavily enough. I know may not be a good thing to do, but I have yet to suffer any adverse side effects and I don't partake of it very often.
I have not noticed any difference in how fast I heal, irregardless of whether or not I have a warm up, and I have been through many random, somewhat jarring, scenes, thanks to having very random friends.
Yes, as you can tell, I'm quite proud of the damage I've withstood. I <3 being a sadomasochist. :P
