I am wondering how long marks from s/m play have lasted on others? I'm a bit surprised to find that after 15 days I still have some visible marks, they are fading but still visible easily. I've not had marks last this long before. Generally 7-10 days max is the norm for me.

I have had a couple of bruises that lasted a couple of weeks, but they were rather deep ones and he had worked on some of my bruises for a week making them deeper and deeper since it is summer time and I wear shorts everywhere. He likes torturing my existing bruises sometimes.

I don't bruise or mark very easily. Most of the time the marks fade in a day or two. I have had deeper ones when he purposely sets out to leave a mark. The crop does a good job as well as the knife.

I had been apart from my Dom/me couple for a few mos because they took a vacation and I broke my leg the day before they returned.

When we did get back together, ML beat me as though She was starving and left her hand prints on my a$$ which lasted 6 days.

Dear SweetSarijane, Ladies and Gentlemen;

My mind's eye has several things presented in regard to deep bruising that lasts longer than 15+ days.

Women's body chemistry changes in cycles, to which such changes effects the muscle chemistry and in addition to that, medicines can effect the body on top of everything that goes on inside a woman's body.

When a Sadist does not prepare/warm up the body, it will bruise deeply with hard strokes. In addition, if a Sadist adds emotions to aide the stroke's intensity, such as anger/hate, to which might be deliberately added as to cause their own body chemicals to ramp up, such as endorphines and adreniline push, the stroke will have a driving power which impacts deeper without the sensation transmitting in a Sadist's hands. The mental mindset-up to boost power is something that is not often realized but used as to get the performance needed. You see this in sports with 'trash talking.'

The masochist, if they do not have their mind on the scene to come, won't be prepared, triggering the mind into motion, that triggers the body chemicals of adreniline and endorphins. If "love' or passive emotions are present, the body is in a peace/rest/defenseless chemical state. So, when there is pain or hurt, that is why the body reacts as well as the emotions.

However, it may be just a case of vitamin deficiency, so when you have blood work done, have your doctor check for it, as you aren't healing as normal.

I hadn't thought about vitamin deficiency. Thank you Lady Hugs. I had blood taken a few days ago as a matter of fact, so will see at my next appointment what's up on that.

It puzzled me why they are lasting this long as I didn't play THAT much harder than usual, and I do play hard, but those I bottom for definitely warm me up first rather than straight getting into it, so I don't believe it's lack of proper warm up.

I don't generally bruise very easily. Longest bruise I've had was from being paddled until I couldn't take it anyore. That lasted about a week. Second longest was from having my side oiled then a cupping device attached and having it dragged across my skin, which lasted about 5 days if I remember correctly.

I"ve had bite marks that have lasted for 2 weeks. I currently have a bruise on my upper arm I inadvertantly gave myself last weekend bringing myself out of some ritual/cathartic mummification. It was pretty deep. I wouldn't be surprised if I have it for 3 weeks.

It really depends on the circumstances, material and, as Lady Hugs said, chemistry. A sports massage therapist friend of mine recommends arnica cream to help them fade/heal faster. You can get it an a health food store that sells vitamins and such, most likely.

i've had some really dark brusies on my boobs for well ova 2 weeks, and only now are they starting to fade. my bum, tummy and thighs don't seem to bruise for so long, and even when Master uses His cane, my bruses are normally gone in a week, or 10 days at most.

The marks remaining are either cane, singletail or both. The paddle and other marks are completely gone and were after about 7 days as usual.

The longest-lasting marks I've ever had didn't even appear until 3 days after we played... after all the smaller bruises and scratches had all but vanished. These deeper ones came up an interesting shade of purple/green, and lasted another 7 days.

Everyone's different. Dependso n where the mark was, what it was made from,h ow hard it was made, heck even where I am in my menstrual cycle.

The longest ones I've had lasted about a month. But I mark fairly easily and it was a deep cut from a singletail on my hip. Ususally a week or two for general bruising and marks.

I mark semi- easily, and most of the marks are there by the time the scene ends. It just caught me by surprise to have some of them lasting this long.

After 48 hours, you can apply heat (no longer than 20 minutes at a time). This reduces bruising faster.

I bruise very easily, and as such, my bruises usually last more than a couple weeks. The longest they have lasted is 5 weeks though, and that was to the point of barely visible, but still able to be seen.

Everyone reacts differently. Some take along time to disappear, some a short time, and some it's both.

I mark very easily and i have to say the marks from my last session will be with me a long time i suspect. I will try to get the cream also. I know that i have been anemic for the last 2 blood tests but because of a hysterectomy in Feb my dr. does not appear concerned, however he is not aware of the activities and has never seen the bruises and i am wondering if the anemia is causing the bruises to stay longer as well.

Typically a week or two. However I have had lash marks from a punishment that lasted over a month. I have some knife-play marks which have remained for about 5 months or so and standing...

I mark very easily. I still have marks from the first week of May, 2005; they are fingernail scratches from our first night together and knife marks from later in the week (the cuts were not to blood either). Some marks I will carry for months before they fade and others are gone in a few days. Fingernails, teeth and knives seem to leave the most lasting marks on me. I will be quite sad to see the fingernail marks from that first night disappear.

Sort of a funny story, but with a caveat - I had one guy who claimed the crop didnt hurt, and challenged me to hit harder until it did it for him. I didnt want to, but he nagged and nagged until I was sufficiently annoyed to do something about it, so I thought, "right, I'll show you then", and gave him one that made him straighten up really quick and want to stop!

A week later, his mother happened to see his backside (dont ask me how, he's 40 years old and past the nappy/diaper stage!), complete with ornamental stripe. Embarassing for him alright, though he didnt breathe a word of from where or whom he had acquired it - good considering his mother knows me as a "nice girl"!

Anyway, two weeks later he gets arrested for being drunk (and another public order offence I wont mention here). The police take his clothes for forensics and make him take a shower, under supervision. There across his butt was the neat bruise line still, which the police were very interested in. I have the guy's quick thinking in what was an embarassing situation, for not being arrested that day for assault.
