Yeah...'Secretary' was on that new Oxygen channel last night... I've seen '9 1/2 Weeks' there too; GREAT movie. I have 'em both and wish I could get a copy of The Pet. Anybody heard when it might be out? I saw the vid clip and know they may be having problems with release...but would like to see it. beverly

"Maitresse" its French but with subtitles its easy enough to understand. Its a little old, with Gerard Depardieu.

Exit to Eden - the book was way better Justine, Eugenie - 2 movies based (loosely or not) on the Marquis de Sade's works Foreign films - Ones I thought worth keeping Seduction the Cruel Woman Maitresse Lies The Frightened Woman Venus in Furs - Not even worth keeping, how loose can an adaptation be? Gwendoline - On the shelf, waiting to be seen. Not sure how high my hopes are. Oh, and for the 'Story of O' fans - there is of course the movie, which was awesome. But, awesome in a completely different way was the 10-part miniseries. I've heard 'scene' people say they didn't like it, but I think that was because they are snobs of the original movie. I like both, and think that 9 or so hours tells more of the original story. Jeff

Any number of movies that are torture to sit through. I never say the movie but "Boxing Helena." I heard the plot and it grossed me out. "Videodrome" was a great movie with S&M undercurrents.

Quills- sort of a biography of De Sade where you get the impression that his only real problem was that he was oversexed and his time in prison drives him to madness. Strangeland- nonconsentual torture of victims, but uses some mainstream forms of torture and bondage, some body manipulation rituals such as hook suspension and spear kavadi. Sadist has a body modification mindset, sees himself as a shaman. Hostel- more hack-slash outlandish forms of torture ending in victims death. Does have an S&M scene in it, early on. Eurotrip- has a funny S&M scene in it when the boy ends up getting way more than he paid for. I'll second Exit to Eden. I never read the book, so I thought the movie was pretty good. If you like cheesy humour that is. Underworld. Although it is a vampire/ werewolf film, and it doesn't have any outward BDSM themes, the hierarchy of the vampires reminds me, at least, a lot about D/s. All of the vampires in service to their Master. This is a common thread in many vampire movies, but this is the first one done, mostly, by their point of view.

"Star 80" Playmate Dorothy Stratten was murdered by her husband after she was seduced by a rich, famous Hollywood director who promised to make her a movie star if she married him. In the movie it appears they were both into bdsm. The movie was produced by the director who seduced Stratten, so the portrait of her husband is made as unflattering as possible..

I agree, it's fluffy and fun. I love it, even though it's terribly unrealistic. They obviously went out of their way to make BDSM non-threatening, and perhaps went a little overboard in that department, but really, it does make it more palatable for the mainstream. I like how they managed to actually get some information across about consensuality in particular.

I'm not sure if this one would fit into a S&M themed movie, but I'll put forth The Blue Angel, with Marlene Dietrich as a domineering woman that puts Emil Jannings through a rather humiliating ringer.

Preaching To The Perverted - it was a UK film about ten-ish years ago. It was reviewed on the movie show on TV, so I guess that would make it mainstream. E

I think Antonio Banderas might be, at the very least, kink-friendly. Many of his movies from his early days as leading man in Pedro Almodovar's Spanish films were kinky. I love Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down, in particular, although it's not overt S/m, watch it and you'll see what I mean. This is when he really rocked as an actor. Hollywood screwed with him for a while but I think the Zorro films were hot. (Masks and boots and whips, OH MY!!) Also, the movie he did with Angelina, Original Sin has a very hot, rough-sex-kinkiness element.
