The Rise and Fall of the Great Powers, by Paul Kennedy.  This is not something I would choose to read.  My Dom gave it to me and told me to read it.  I'm not to pick up another book until it is done.  It is about economics, warfare and politics, from a world historical perspective.

I do most of My reading during the cooler months. Just finished Janet Evanovitch's "Twelve Sharp" (I admit it..it's a total fluff book..but I just love the characters lol)
And have been trying to get through "The Cider House Rules" all summer....I have found it to be SUCH a difficult/slow read.  But I have a thing about that...I can't NOT finish a book.

I just read, The Big Bad Wolf and London Bridges by James Patterson.  Now I'm reading some of his older stuff, Roses are Red.  I got the last book at the library used book section for only a buck!

I am reading Girl Interuppted.. I had seen the movie several times, but just now got the book.  It's almost a totally different story, very glad that I found it.  I usually read the book, before I ever see the movie.  I did this with "The DaVinci Code"..then I couldn't go and see it, I was afraid it would ruin the images I already had in my head of things.  I hear they are going to make "Angles and Demons" into a movie, I loved the book..but once again, I can't go and see it.  I think some things cannot be duplicated on film, how they are written or seen in your own mind.

I am also reading An Unfinished Life by, Robert Dallek.  It's about JFK..and a very good informative read.  I am not far into it yet, but I already know, there was much about him I wasn't aware of.
