Hi! This is my first post here, so I hope I'm doing this right.

I realize that there is no one correct answer, but when you hear the term "Daddy Dom", what comes to mind for you personally? I ask because I am looking for a Daddy Dom, but there seem to be some very divergent ideas on what that means. I've also heard that some very caring, nurturing Doms whom others might classify as a Daddy quite dislike the label. Thoughts?

Daddy/Mommy roles in relationships carry with them a very specific sense in relation to the other person. Being nurturing and caring does not automatically make someone into a parental figure/figurehead in a relationship. I know I'm certainly not a mommy or daddy.

I dunno, there are plenty of Doms that do that that dont consider themselves Daddy doms...
Im sure theres a lot more to it than that. I know better than to give my definition again, since last tmie I got guff for being the wrong gender and all.

Mentally, yes. There are times when I've searched for a thread or a person's words and have thought "I KNOW there was a post around this time of the month about this..." and gone hunting. How my memory works is perfect for research/pulling threads, which is part of why I do it- it's fun and easy for me.

But really it's only the first time that takes awhile. After that, in two weeks when the next person brings up the same topic, you just have to find the last time you posted the links, copy them onto the reply, add on the last thread and you're done.

And I see that my question has largely been answered in other threads.

Having read some other posts, I wonder if I am limitimg myself by saying outright that I am looking for a Daddy Dom? I am pretty sure that's what I want, but maybe HE doesn't know that's what he is!

Well if he is squicked by the word Daddy, then knowing what one is isn't going to change his feelings about being called that.

I found a Dom that liked being called Daddy, and I liked him so well that I was willing to call him that to see how it felt. It turned out well for us. Some people just are freaked out by the implications of Daddy/girl relationships. I have received hate mail over my profile about how vile I am for age playing and encouraging someone demented and it made me mentally ill. We do not age play. It is about vulnerability and tenderness.

If the honorific ""daddy" is not what you are looking for, but instead it is the dynamic you are looking for, it may not hurt to take the word off and put a description of a daddy dom in its place. If you really want a dom you can call "daddy", leave it the way it is?
