This afternoon I was floating on my back in the pool looking up at the clouds and seeing faces, animals etc in them.
My tan is getting very dark now.
Later on I drove over to Murrell's Inlet to a fish store and got 3 lbs of shrimp fresh off the boat a half hour earlier.
Then tonight we had thundershowers and thunder and lighning for three hours straight!
I love summertime!
What are some of the things you like about summer?

There are only three things I like about summer. Tending my garden, the fact that it stays light out well into the evening and sitting outside watching a really good summer thunder and lightening show. Ohhh I forgot, I love eating outside on my patio.

Gentle evening temperatures, the sounds of cicadas, crickets and bullfrogs, the smell of cocoa butter on the female form...

Personally, I love people wtching in the summer time.  Skirts get shorter, shorts get shorter, shirts get smaller and some guys dont even bother with them.  The eye candy abounds.
Granted, in Vegas, its too damn hot to sit outside and enjoy it for long some nights... but still, its worth the show.

There are a couple of things I like about summer in Arizona.  One is the fact that there are slightly fewer morons on the roads.

And number two is thunderstorms.

I'll second that... nothing like a good thunderstorm at night with the windows open in the house and the curtains flowing in the breeze...    ...now, if you're in a tent on an exposed  mountain ridge, they are a little less charming

Swimming with the dogs in the magnificent crystal clear river I live on. Jumping off 40 ft rocks and just wearing shorts, a tank top and Teva's every single day. Man....summer is fun!

Almost forgot.... the gym is half as full as it is during winter, so waiting for certain dumbells and machines is not nearly as bad.

1.  Going to the beach
2.  Spending long days at the beach
3.  Watching guys play volleyball at the beach
4.  Swimming at the beach
5.  Did I mention the Beach.

But then I live in Florida, so most times of the year is a day at the beach,

When I was a kid summer meant living at the beach.  Going hiking everyday.

As an adult summer only means more work with the kids than normal.
Trying to make time where there is no free time to make.

I do long for a place that is less rushed.  When I get there it will be summer
all year round even when the snow is on the ground.

I love summer too which is why I moved to Florida. Sun, surf sand. I love eating a warm peanut butter and jelly sandwich on the beach and cracking open a frosty cold soda. Running towards the waves and diving right in. The lush greeness of the season. BBq, watermelon and sitting out on the back porch. the only thing missing down here is the lightning bugs.

Sigh.. after 26 years here.. I STILL think I can run out onto the driveway FOR A SECOND to get the paper while barefoot.  The going out is easy.. then it hits you you have to get BACK!

Hmmm... lobster rolls, open air swimming in the river, sand between the toes at the beach, and the sound like bacon sizzling of the waves' froth on the sand...

my summer is over today!!!  Back to school tomorrow :(

i do love summer though:  watermelon, cool breezes at night, sitting on the porch swing, seeing my dog lying in the sunshine, the smell of grilling in the air, swimming in the lake, swimming in the pool, sleeping in, being tan, those little white moths that flitter around, being so hot you think you can't stand another minute of sweat dripping off of you and then walking into an airconditioned place, summer fairs and picnics, the CUBS!!, and last but not least, i love my flipflops :)
