Slipstreme, TY i haven't felt staples yet but during a class at Thunder where the instructor was showing a staple gun. Sir leaned over to me and said "by the way I have one of those" all i could do was shiver and grin. Can You describe how the sensations differ or do they? Actually, I was a tad disappointed to find out the needles hurt worse. It's a sharp sudden pain, similar to the needles, only it disappears quickly and doesn't have that much an after burn. One neat thing about the staples, though, is they can be left there for up to three weeks, and you can jiggle them around, which feels kindof neat as they pull on your skin. Push them down and it hurts more. They hurt more when they are first put in than when you remove them. However, removal is a bit more painful than removing a needle, as they do form a solid line of metal under the skin, they have to lift away from where they bent around and pull out again with a special removal tool. Pulling them out can cause more harm than good, because of that fact. I had three, one in my arm to try it and two to close a one inch stab wound on my wrist from stupidity (although I was going to leave it open, I eventually submitted to staples, mainly because I knew they would cause more pain). Don't play Mortal Kombat with knives with your friend and a violet wand. Stupidity happens. I sort of miss my staples and my wrist sort of remembers them there from time to time.
