Interesting question. I always considered myself as having a super high libido, always horny, always wanting sex, no problem.

I have now discovered that my libido has relaxed and become more in tune with what is going on in my life. I have been out of work for 2 months for example, am worried and stressed and have not been the least bit horny, except intellectually and abstractly.

I also find that my libido plummets if I am not in a good relationship.  But when I am in a good one, it whoooooooooooooooshes right back.

my libido does have an on and off switch.. sort of.

When not in a relationship or anywhere near having a relationship.. i may have to satisfy myself (via my handy Hitachi) once or twice per month.

If i'm with a person who's pheremones affect me (especially just before my cycle) i'm out of control and my libido is on overdrive. 

i have a very healthy enjoyment of sex and usually it's my body that gives out before my libido... but then again, that's most likely because i don't have sex on a regular basis.

Hi all,
So glad I read this thread ... nice to know I am not alone ... when I get to that point when it is all I can think about and masterbation reminds me of the boy with his finger in the dyke ... temporary fix but does not solve the problem, I feel like tearing paint off the walls with my finger nails, my body no longer is my own, it interferes with my entire life, when I was younger I would just go hunt lol ... however I do not consider that an option anymore. I have been like this all my adult life and found it definately got worse as I reached my forties lol ... I have beter control as I have got older but hell lack of sex feels like punishment even when it is not meant to be.  Nothing like pure lava flowing through your veins with no place to go lol.

sex was sex...nothing too exciting to me...but when i hit 41 and i made the decision that i really wanted to pursue being a submissive and found a Master...my libido kicked into overdrive...now...can't get enough.

Ugh! Mine is insane sometimes.  When I am with someone, I want it at least once a day.... I crave it.  When I am alone, I just take care of it myself a few times a week. 
 
I have always had this type of sex drive.  The biggest problem I have had, is finding a partner that can keep up with it.  That would be my ultimate.. smart, funny, kind, caring, romantic..and likes to fuck like a rabbit.  mmmm... a nice dream.

I don't have much of a libido. Although, I am only 23, I've only had sex twice and each time, I didn't orgasm. So, I guess I just haven't had that experience that makes me want more. Of course, there are times when I want it but it's very bareable.

Guess I'm in the minority.  After my husband died I went without sex for ... (whispering) ... 8 years.  I'm not sure how I did it, but I figured that if I were a person with a higher libido, I would have just found someone to fuck. I think I went into some kind of deep freeze.

What I'm feeling has a big effect on my libido.  People who are emotionally turned off make me dry up -- it's just not worth it for me. 

Being in my thirties has made me more aggressive in terms of getting sex, and getting the sex that I want.  I'm hoping that the "exercise" model that folks have put out there will be true for me -- that once I find a partner I like, that my libido will bloom.

That's probably what I need. I've never found anyone that I want. I'm just so easily dissuaded I can't even give someone who greets me the wrong way a chance. The first impression is way important to me and I don't care how fine you are, if you fail to impress me, we can only be friends.

Well, I can't speak for anyone else, but I think my funky (or would that be non-funky?) libido is related to mondo sexual abuse as a kid.  (I hope this isn't a thread-hijack)

mmm i too like to touch for the sake of touching.. i guess one might say i'm a touch slut.  i like to nibble on body parts.. not just selected ones, but whatever ones are handy.  If i like the touch and taste of His skin.. then it just feels natural to be in the middle of Salvation Army Thrift shop and just nibbling a little on his forearm.  i don't know if i mean it as a tease, i just know it's pleasurable.. at least for me it is, and so far, i've heard no complaints that it wasn't pleasant.

It's nice to see so many other women with very high libidos.  Mine tends to have three speeds: Turned on, revved up, or passed out.  The Mate has 15 years on me, and is disabled, so I find myself using B.O.B. a lot, or my hands, or the shower massager, or the paint shaker...okay, I was kidding about the paint shaker.  Maybe.

I've always had a fairly high sex drive, but was never able to really turn it loose until The Mate.  My ex-husband used to complain a LOT that I was a horndog.  I wound up in a celibate marriage for the last three years with him, and it was pure hell.  The worst part of that (and most damaging to my psyche) was that he was out sleeping with other women, hence his not wanting to sleep with his too small-chested and fat* wife.

I'm approaching 40, and it doesn't seem like my libido ids increasing, but it sure as heck isn't decreasing.  Even on a day like this, where the pain scale is hitting 7-8 of 10, I'm still only about 3 seconds away from ready right this instant.  (That would be the bad pain scale, arthritis and psoriasis, not the fun pain scale.)


*I'm 5'6", and I weighed in at about 130, and wore a size 8, with D boobs.

I don't have a high libido and I don't think I ever have. I prefer lesbian style sex - sensuality rather than sexuality - to penetrational sex. I haven't come inside a woman for about 20 years! All that happens now if I get aroused is I get hard, I can penetrate for a few minutes then I go off the boil. I can come if I stimulate myself but never if someone else does it, whether by hand, mouth or pussy. Maybe I'm too feminine but I most definately am a straight guy / lesbian female.

My libido is fairly strong, but I haven't been with anyone in some time. I have to say, though, as I get a bit older, and having been through the ringer a little bit the last year, my desire to have a woman just to touch, and be close to physically and emotionally, means a great deal as well.

No, you miss the point I think. It's actually bad for me. It's like eating, but never getting full. It's like drowning but being dehydrated all at once. It's a burden to have to restrain yourself & overcome your impulses constantly. I'd rather be one of those girls who hated sex than to have the raging need I contend with. Believe me running around in a complete tizzy with your boobs aching and your twat tingling & dripping wet because you need to get laid is not a good thing.
