one of my greatest strengths- perseverance (i don't believe a thing exists that can't be done or a challenge un-solvable), and along those lines, i'm not afraid to say 'i don't know or i'm not sure but let me find out'.
i'm smart (not brilliant)
pretty (not stunningly gorgeous)
i have nice curves (but fall outside my perfect bmi)
whitty (and especially quick with a pun)
i'm a great Mom (have raised 2 good kids who think well for themselves-which was always my main goal in child rearing)
i'm good with money (but that took many years an many mistakes)
and i'm told i'm a good girl (which makes my heart sing :o)

i admire that i am willing to learn, that i have raised 2 wonderful, free thinking independent daughters (who are beautiful i might add), my ability to find the good in others and my capacity to love fully.

I feel one of my strengths is perseverance. I know sometimes that life is hard and not easy. I feel that I am loyal and faithful. I do know I make mistakes and I try to learn something from them. I know we cannot chance the past but we can make a new future. Sometimes I like to ride the rocket sled. Makes for an interesting hair day.

I wonder if anyone actually reads the comments by the people ahead of them...

I do, I read them all.

Powerman40 -> RE: What Do You Admire About Yourself? (8/27/2006 11:38:34 AM)

I'm kind, loving, caring, and selfless, to the point I take care of others needs well beyond and or before my own.

gentlethistle -> RE: What Do You Admire About Yourself? (8/27/2006 12:27:36 PM)

I'm still struggling to think of any useful answer to this question.  In fact the question itself upsets me quite a bit.  I don't think there is anything particularly admirable about me.

This doesn't mean that I'm not a perfectly worthwhile human being with a lot of positive qualities and skills.  It just means that I don't relate to the whole idea of admiring myself.

Every good and admirable thing about me is also pretty damn awful, depending on the circumstances and the timing.

Basically, my strengths and good qualities are as good or as bad as the situations I am in..........LOL

I've heard from others that I'm caring and unnaturally mature for my age; I have my times when I'm not the most mature person though.  I've got a good sense of humor.  Thick skin when dealing with hostile people.  I'm usually a deep thinker (that can be a flaw too though).  I'm flexible in thought, and don't tend to get stuck in one line of reasoning.

What I like most about myself is my huge capacity to love. When I love I do it fully and to my very best ability. I am attractive, witty, flirtatious, bright, passionate about my beliefs, sensitive, intuitive, and highly sexual. I have been told by many that I am a good woman and that pleases me very much.

Little Pita, allow me to say, I've been in love with your shoes for several time spans.

If you don't wish to spurn me, please remove that photo from CM.  I've had several innapropriate dreams about them and I'm confident I may decide to become a virgin because of them.

(The process is at best, arduous...I only have a few years left).

I do, but I try to forget them if they include anything corresponding to the alphabet.

KatyLied -> RE: What Do You Admire About Yourself? (8/27/2006 7:46:06 PM)

I am a good communicator and honest.  I am open to new people and experiences.  I try not to rush to judgment and remind myself that everyone has different experiences and is in a different place in this journey (the one we call life).  I am caring and nurturing.  I am fun.

behindmirrors -> RE: What Do You Admire About Yourself? (8/27/2006 9:11:35 PM)

I am passionate.
When I hear music, I move because I feel it inside of every part of my body and it feels good.
I can feel things and not be afraid of them.
I experience all that I can, and am ambitious nearly to a fault. I work hard.
I am eternally curious, and strive to learn with enthusiasm.
I am stronger than I look, wise beyond my years, and ready to be more of these things when the time comes.
Loyal and true to the ones I love, and especially to the one who owns me. I serve him with pride.

Mostly, I am arrogant. That word seems so negative, but to me, it is a trait that heroes carry. To be arrogant is to be able to stand up for one's beliefs or to act when one needs to. To have control- and to choose how it is used or who it is placed in. My arrogance is something I am proud of. It's not a "submissive" thing to say, but I don't care. It's part of m all the same.

Im not sure this post box is big enough lol.

One thing about myself that I would SO love to see in other people is the fact that Im genuine.  By genuine I mean, what you see is what you get.  Some may not like what and who I am, which is fine, but the upside is that I mean what I say, I say what I mean, and I dont put on pretense in order to affect someones feelings towards me, or too appear to be anything other than what/who I am. If we all lived this way, I think we'd make poor choices in friendships and relationships far less often than we do, simply because we would know what we are dealing with rather than being fooled by a facade.

Beyond that, when I deem someone as friend,  I dont think theres a more loyal person alive than myself.

behindmirrors -> RE: What Do You Admire About Yourself? (8/27/2006 9:27:52 PM)

That's part of being arrogant, in my eyes. To be real, regardless of what you're doing, to give yourself and nothing else. To be proud enough to feel you can say "This is me, take it or leave it, but I am who I am." That's something I really love being able to see in others, as well as myself.

Glad to see a real person around, marieToo.

Tikkiee -> RE: What Do You Admire About Yourself? (8/27/2006 9:31:15 PM)

What do I admire about myself?

The fact that I was able to pick myself up from the depths of hell ( literally ) and become something resembling a mature, responsible adult.
The fact that I went from a destructive, angry person to one who could look past the anger and see the beauty on the other side.
Most of all, I admire the fact that I am above all else, a survivor in the face of overwhelming odds.

ya know...you just caused me to look up the word arrogant.  Websters dictionary says that the synonym for arrogant is "proud".  I never viewed arrogant as a positive. But when you put it that way, well....I guess I am arrogant in some ways.

so...yay yay for arrogant girls!!!

What I admire about myself: my strength to overcome obstacles, my intelligence, verbal ability, wit, ability to laugh at most everything that life throws at me, my passion, my taste level, storytelling ability and my honesty.
