Mavis -> RE: What Do You Admire About Yourself? (8/30/2006 11:48:30 PM)

i like the fact that my brain pulls the train, my emotions follow, and i'm on the passion track. Usually.

i like the fact that i'm teachable.  By gawd, i know what i know, but if someone can inform me or offer insight that is solid, i will change my mind, and will hold that new knowledge with the same tenacity.  i can stop dead in my tracks in an argument or debate if i'm convinced, and i'll thank my opponant for a learning moment.  (i don't like that it might take me a while to incorporate new behaviors though)

i like that i can teach and advise with solid info, it made me a good mother, and a superb help-mate to Master and HusDom.  i like that i can easily choose who around me is worth which level of interaction.  i like that i can lead, teach, or follow with equal comfort, depending on the situation and relationship involved.

but Mostly, i like that i can take a nap twice in one day if i need it, and not feel guilty about it.

what i admire most about myself is the abilty to not stress over the little stuff. Some people say its a non caring attitude but i beleive that why make  onesself sick  over  something that cannot be changed. just go with the flow ..most things usually have a way of working themselves out .
also . i am a caring , devoted, loving, will give  the shirt off my back if it will help someone who needs it.
i guessi am most suprised  and proud of my ability to serve Master properly. even though i knoew i was submissive, i thought my smarassness and independent nature would cause major issues... i have  found that the need toserve Him and make Him happy makes me more happy and content than i have ever beeen.. this is a real shocker to me..lol

Alright i have though about this and i finally figured the thing about me that i admire mosst it the fact that i am loyal and intelligent.  I also have a tender heart (not always a good thing) and i have a great sense a humor.  i think i also have a lot of compassion.

This requires a bit of thought, honestly. My self-worth is very low, so this is hard.

One thing - I am who and what I am.  No one will ever change that.  I know I am different.  My mind works differently from most people that I have observed, and I don't care.  I'm used to being the outcast.

I am artistic.  I appreciate classical literature.  Music moves my soul.  When I look into an animal's eyes and open my senses, I can share impressions and feelings with them in a way that I don't understand.  I don't talk about that much because almost everyone (except for pup because he's seen the strange things I can do) thinks I'm crazy.

I am honest.  I am capable of changing my mind when reasonable evidence is presented to me.  I am deeply loyal to those I love.  I have been told that I am wise for my age.

These are the positive things that I know exist inside of me, beneath the emotional and mental turmoil that I find myself mired in so often.  If I ever find a way to secure a positive outlook, I am certain that I could do and become much.

this has taken some time and thought about who i am what i admire about myself   not really sure if there is anything  Ive been a pretty aweful person the last several years . possibly its I'm to kind hearted and carring I always willing to give people the benefit of  the doubt no matter how badly I've been treated  by them  always given them a scend chance  I admire that I'm stronger then I thought. it is true that what  wont kill you will make you stronger  but  I admire the fact no matter how sad lonely or depressed I am I  continue on with lifes struggle  I  might not know much but what I do know is enourmous

I'm a loyal friend, intelligent, funny, passionate...I care deeply about people and little animals. I like to continually learn new things and I try to stay humble about what I do know.

And I'm wicked with a makeup brush! ;)

i'm a great Mom (have raised 2 good kids who think well for themselves-which was always my main goal in child rearing)

This is the only "strength" you listed without a "disclaimer" in a way.  I TOTALLY get it.  Throw sticks and stones at me (or I at myself), this is the best thing I know ... My favorite thing is being a good mom.  Now I feel guilty for not putting that in my original post ...

This doesn't mean that I'm not a perfectly worthwhile human being with a lot of positive qualities and skills.  It just means that I don't relate to the whole idea of admiring myself.

It's not so awful to see the good you bring into the world.  In fact, you MUST see that ... it's your purpose.

Admire:  To regard with pleasure and approval.

That's part of being arrogant, in my eyes. To be real, regardless of what you're doing, to give yourself and nothing else. To be proud enough to feel you can say "This is me, take it or leave it, but I am who I am." That's something I really love being able to see in others, as well as myself.

Arrogance does have a negative connotation.  What you speak of is self-worth.

You are not crazy.  Animals use senses and judgement differently  ... I know what you are talking about.  Thanks ... that's a quality I forgot ... animals sense and like me, no better compliment.  (I love them - that's why.)

I admire my resillience and my devotion.

babysburnin -> RE: What Do You Admire About Yourself? (8/31/2006 5:40:27 PM)

I am so special and wonderful, I have so many great strengths!  I have so much to add to this world!  I see things that ONLY I see in just that way. (Now, if I could only get those negative thoughts out of my head about not being perfect ...)

I strived for perfection because I was taught to - never knowing at the time it is a foolish thing, never to be acquired.  Once you give up that, then hey, you are pretty darn good.
