I've learned that I'm so much more kinkier than I ever imagined.
Things that I originally thought  "eeww...no way"  are now some of my
biggest turn ons.

Lotus, what is that site all about?

From what I garner.. it's a fetish were they guy dresses up.. (not unusual) but instead of doing the hair and makeup- they wear a mask.. full face costume mask.  Never knew of this before.
The link has pictures.

I think I have learned that Furries and Plushies are not the same thing.

To LotusSong: I have never heard of masking either. Thanks! How strange! This too is part of why I like this site. I come across all sorts of strange things. Yay! lololol

I have to credit to TreSwank on that enlightenment.

Edited to clairify:  TreSwank mentiontioned it in a Humor post.  He doesn't do it.. (well.. not that I know of  :)

I have learned quite a bit from this site in the time I have spent here thus far:
- That I'm certainly not alone in my feelings about so much I thought I was alone about.
- That it's okay to feel that way.
- That the variety of things people are interested in are as many as the people here, as are the opinions on these things/people.
- That BDSM is not a "exclusive club" that only the cool folks can be a part of, haha.
- That if I am genuinely seeking advice, I can post something honest and get some honest answers (most of the time, haha).
- That LuckyAlbatross is a great source for opinions, links, and advice, for nearly every question, and that she has been helpful to me (and I'm sure to many others) for that. (Thanks!)
- That people have been really kind (for the most part, haha) to me.
- That I can in fact meet good friends on the internet. (Who would have thought?)
And...
- That people who never read my profile and send me messages telling me something random or that I should be their submissive are really the majority of the mail I recieve here.

I knew this but CM  popsts and profiles confirmed it...

No matter how STRAIGHT a person says they are.. they will go "bi" if the pickings are slim.

i learned that apparently potential can be found in ohio. it may not sound like terribly much, i realise, but hey. in the grand scheme of things, it's the biggest shock the past few years delivered to my smug yet perfect worldview.

Ah, some interesting answers!
I've learned about a few things that I never thought I'd like.
That's why I try to keep an open mind.
Thankyou to all who've answered so far!

I've learned how much i don't know about this lifestyle, how much there is still to try out there, and that i'm not alone with my kinks.  I've also learned a lot about safety, definitions (which seem to be different for everyone), new experiences to try, and how to use normal household objects in kinky ways, among other things. I have also made some very good friends here.
