Status: offline 		A point of order on the British (Prime Minister to Parliament) case put forward for WMDs. The British dossier included a forged document (which claimed the Iraqi regime had sourced elements from Nigeria needed to build nuclear weapons). Not only was it forged the British secret services and Prime Minister knew it was forged because the CIA told them and advised them not to include it in the dossier.

I think it's fair to say that as they were including forged documents they were making up a case as one didn't exist.

Status: offline 		There were leaks coming out of British intelligence saying the Blair government was willfully misintepreting the evidence. The document produced by British intelligence was modified by the Blair government by insisting on changes in emphasis. Even as Iraq was being debated in Parliament, the vast majority of people in the country were aware the dossier was more spin than facts. The government only manage to pass a resolution for war through blind party loyalty, which has me thinking, what a load of shit the British Parliament is.

Very true and a sad indictment of current British politics. A few brave souls resigned over this but the rest - career first, principles second.

Status: offline 		Bush keeps making the mistake of blamming the intelligence services. If he just would admit, "I screwed up", 80% of the voters would just say "Ok, lets move on".
Instead he keeps blamming the non-partisan professionals in the intelligence services. They aren't going to take the rap for this losers mess & will keep coming around to bite him in the ass again & again.

....inaccurate, at least as far as UK intelligence went. The UK security services submitted a report to Downing Street that was substantially modified before publication. The so called 'dodgy dossier' was a politicians creation not the intelligence services. You confuse what governments say their security services told them with what they were actually told.
