Status: offline 		My top has ordered me to sleep with a teddy bear from now on. I'm also a collge student. That isn't the problem. However, I've started becoming very attached to it and I've found myself starting to miss it when I'm out of the house - class or buying grocieries mainly. Anyway, I was just thinking of pinning it to my backpack and carrying it around that way. What I'm afraid of is those people who can't mind their own business and are going to ask me why the heck I'm carrying around a 12" blue Care Bear.

Any ideas for comebacks, and/or good answers besides the obvious "Ask my dominatrix."?..I'm at a loss.

Status: offline 		I'd tell them the truth.  But, I'd do it insincerely, acting like I was making it up as I was speaking, so as to convince them I was lying.  I'd end with the words, "That's my story and I'm sticking to it."

Then I'd stick to it.

Status: offline 		No need for comebacks.. just smile and even hug it if you want. If you don't get emotionally charged with your response they will drop it. Otherwise you might start a "blue bear" girl talk. I think most people will just think you like the fact that the carebears are making a resurgance.

If they ARE friends, just say this:

'I wuv my wittle dowwy'.

If you lose them as friends, then they weren't your friends to begin with.

Status: offline 		Sometimes being goth makes life so much easier.  I used to carry a baby bottle and no one ever asked why.  In fact, I had to stop when it became a trend and everyone was doing it. 

If someone asks why you are carrying it, cover its ears and whisper "Shhhh.... he doesnt know he is not human.  He's auditing my classes." and leave it at that.

Status: offline 		A lot of people have totems, whether it’s jewelry, or pictures or pieces of something special.  While a bear might be a bit on the unusual side, as long as you aren’t in a professional environment, it shouldn’t be much of an issue.  College is the time where you start to make the lines for yourself- where you will be yourself and where you will compromise.

On a more practical level however, pinning the bear seems a bad move.  It will get very dirty, the pins will likely eventually give way or tear the bear due to all the lugging around and such, and the more you carry it around with you, the higher likelihood of it getting lost.  I’d really consider keeping the bear as a bedtime totem and carrying something smaller that you can fit into your wallet as a touchstone.

And I still have my polar bear that I’ve had since I was 11- and he went to college with me every year.

Status: offline 		To be honest, NO ONE needs to know that it's some kinky thing. If it was me, and I was carrying a teddy bear around because my Mistress (which I don't have one these days, but if I did...) told me to, if someone asked me why I was carrying around a teddy bear, I'd respond:

"He's my friend. Got a problem with that?"

My apartment is filled with stuffed animals. I love em. Some male friend of mine some time back said I needed to get rid of them, "just in case" I happened to bring a woman home. I responded that if I ever somehow managed to find a woman who wanted to go home with me, it's not going to be one who is going to freak out because of a stuffed animal collection. He never really seemed to understand that explanation as he was the typical guy believing that any man's goal is to "bag as many chicks" as a guy can, thus bringing home ANY woman that might be foolish enough to go home with a guy without knowing anything about him in the first place.
