HarryVanWinkle -> Females vs. Women (9/11/2006 7:54:00 AM)

I've long wondered about the psychology of those who always refer to half of our species as "females," never as "women." I see somebody write "male seeks female" and wonder if he's an appliance which plugs itself in. Or, perhaps, a Siamese cat who's taken charge of its own breeding. It's not a laziness thing; "man seeks woman" is certainly no harder to type. I've seen posters on these boards who ask a series of questions about females without ever using the word "women." I've known more than a few men who do this in real life. It's always "females" never "women" as if women were some sort of alien species. Most such men that I've known personally were absolutely clueless about women and, I think, perpetual virgins themselves. For myself, I like women. I adore women. I worship the dirt women walk on. Often, I wish I WAS the dirt a woman walked on. But, I'm not so hot of females. I have a female cat; she can be a real pain in the ass. I once had a female dog; she was hyper as hell. I've ridden female horses. I've milked female bovines. I've never been sexually attracted to any of them. Only to women. I'm wondering how the women on these boards react to posts and profiles which frequently use the word "females" and never "women." Do they cause you to wonder about the guys who post them?
