Close counts ... how many times in that 27 years were you close? I don't look for beauty queen, just someone loyal and loving. Everything else fades, who you are inside continues on.

Yep, I look at match as being a mirror image of me. And I know that would bore me. If you are talking about a match as being compatible in the important things, but also being diverse enough to keep it interesting, I can go with that.

to me a match is less like a clone, or mirror image, and more like an interlocking puzzle piece. I have multiple sides, and there are a couple of people in this world who could really interlock with me - but only one fit will show enough of a picture to make sense... the waiting does make it worth the finding, though...

Shel Silverstein's The Mising Piece and the Big O comes to mind. It's a children's book with a grown up message. i love it when that happens for 2 reasons...it makes it easy for my simple mind to grasp and it shows great love and altruism on the part of the author by delivering a wisdom concept in a format directed at kids. Lots of kids have no grown up in their life willing or able to do that for them. Live, learn, pass it on. My opinion of someone who is a good "match", is a person who is complementary to me. The ping to my pong, someone who adds a nice contrast to who i am and vice versa. We naturally, bring out, attract and accentuate mostly the good traits in one another, and fill in the areas where we each may be lacking, just by being the people we are. I'm fairly sure that "Shifted" would be my 99.99% match and "Twice" is in the high 90s, so maybe it's just luck. Of course there were several 1% ones along this path.

To have a 100% match is not possible, as no two people are exactly alike. Don't forget, no one's perfect, your match would have your stubborn and negative behaviors as well. What is important is to bond with someone who truly understands you, can communicate with you on every level and one who doesn't judge but does call you on certain situations not to hurt but to help you grow.
