I just wanted to see how many people will be voting in November...sometimes people that bark the loudest don't even vote.

I don't think we have an election up here in November, so no.

Although if I wanted, I'm sure Bush would let me vote for him in Florida.

Yours,

benji

No (I won't be voting).

My state (Washington) has decided within the last few years that....if you claim to be a Democrat...you must vote the Democrat ticket, and if you deviate, your vote is of no consequence...likewise if you're a registered Republican...if you dare vote for a Democrat (HEATHEN!!!!!), your vote will be canceled.

Hence, why I don't vote.

(Yes, I know it's beyond ridiculous, and yes, I know I could make my voice heard...but I really don't give a shit)

My vote tends to be on the losing side 90% of the time but I'm just enough of a masochist to vote in every election anyway.

Now, I openly admit I have no idea about your laws, but aren't your votes anonymous?  Ours are here.....

i don't think it's cuz i'm a masochist since i'm usually voting on the downhill side too..lol, but yeah, i'll be voting..in person this year.  I've always believed that voting is a responsibility, not a privilege like so many seen to think.  i also believe that if i don't vote then i don't have much right to bitch..lol.

During the last election i made the mistake of voting by absentee ballot.  my commute to and from work made it almost impossible to do it in person, and it wasn't worth getting into it with my boss (or so i thought).  i only found out later that absentee ballots were only counted if those votes would change the election.  Boy was i ticked to find that out.  i'll call in sick if i have to, but i do plan on making the most of my vote -- ya never know when that will be taken away from us anymore.

Cheers
jimini

Well, I assume they have some aspects of records...but still...in our state, you must choose an entirely Democratic ticket, or an entirely Republican ticket.

Deviations are not allowed.

It's something that's occurred within the last 20 months and I'm still deciding how to respond to it.

Helllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll yes!  This is an incredibly important election!  I just voted in my primary and you can bet your bootie I am voting in November.  I have many strongly held political convictions, and I think it would be highly hypocritical of me to keep voicing my opinion about them were I not to exercise my civic duty and actually vote.

Get out there people!

no, but i'm sure somehow my vote will be counted anyway. i don't believe the elections are fair...but in fact are rigged anyway.

**edited to add**

It depends on party rules in the various states.  In CA, registered as a "decline to state a party," I had my pick of ballots where my vote would be accepted under 'open primary' rules.  Closed Primaries, where only the votes of party members count, seem to be the rule more often.

I think this has happened in reaction to Democrats/Republicans voting for the biggest loser on the opposing parties ticket in the primary.

If voting changed anything they'd make it illegal.

they like to control us by making us think voting does good...from time to time they "let" some good things pass, just to keep our hopes up.

Ya know...my Mom always told me (every motherfucking election) "Ya know (moi), THIS election is important", and it didn't really matter which election it was...THIS one (the one we're in at this particular moment) was the singularly most important election in the history of mankind.

I'm thinking Mom was a smidge paranoid.
