does whining about whiners cancel out each other so there's no more whining?  Just wondering, not whining.

well... remembering my math

a negative plus a negative... still equates to a negative

a positive plus a positive ... equates to a positive

a postive plus a negative .. will equate to a positive only if the postive is bigger than the negative else it stays a negative

so... whining about whiners (negative) plus the whiners (negative)  still equates to a bunch of whiners (negative)

So if that is true, and an op posts their rant about drama, and then are told the very post is contributing to the drama, is that post not a rant, meaning does it not also add to the drama?  At what point does the drama end and the comedy begin?

Very well said KnightofMists. Not to mention some damn fine math.

To the OP: you are disappointed that a free online BDSM site is not offering you the safe haven of a family?

Sorry, I already have a real life family and consider collarme as well as any other website to be an interesting diversion, a place to possibly learn something, be entertained and maybe, just maybe connect with someone for a relationship.

But to put all your expectations in one basket, is surely a recipe for disappointment. As others have said, do not complain, just don't stay if it is not to your liking.

Okay, I am back to betting....

What do you think the odds are that the first time poster/whinger of the OP will come back and actually debate  his point, rather than doing a drive by pity party?

Right about now, I'd say.

I see various levels of caliber in various threads.  Those threads that do not appeal to me, I skip.  Some days that might be most of them. Some days that might be none of them.

mmmmm that is an excellent... point... guess that we get into Exponentials.... or it is when benji to make a humorous and perceptive comment of the drama that has engulfed us.

OR... we just don't take the rant serious in the first place and yang there chain for our own personal amusement.

I think Collar Me is probably the coolest BDSM personal site around. Ive met some cool people so far.

Granted there are some people who love to flame and call you this or that...but you get that everywhere if you are different.

It is your right to complain, but all I see is complaining, I didn't see you offer any solutions to the problem.  I can't think of one way to screen people...and what if, even though you are serious and not just a wanker,...what is some odd screener decided that you were a wanker and declined your membership?  That wouldn't be fair.  And how long would all that take to get approved...geez...lol

Personally, all the sites and chat rooms are just the same.  Pretty much the same people go to all.  I love this site, it does the same as all the other sites, and sometimes more, but the overall benefit is.....IT'S FREE!....

So aren't ya glad that even though you have some aggrevation here, you are not shelling out hundreds of bucks each year to go through it?

Not being mean, just putting down some thoughts.

I think it maybe too late for this weekend,.. perhaps brainstorming for next weeks train wreck might be a better use of our time?

I enjoy this site a lot.
A very good exchange of ideas in all the different "dept's" as it were.
And I've learned quite a bit too despite having over 18 years in this lifestyle.
The only downside for me is that I haven't met anyone in here yet who'd like to become my slave.
Hopefully that'll happen in the not too distant future.

I think CM is merely a mirror of society in general, with many different ideals and opinions.  I like this site and have met several wonderful people, made friends, been entertained, annoyed.. etc.. But ya know- you get what you look for!  :)

I like CM.  I think I influence some, maybe piss off some others, and that's all well and good.  I don't want it to go away.  Hopefully I won't be asked to go away.

But to answer this issue raised as easily and succinctly as possible, I offer this.

The drama ends, and the comedy begins, as a result of the drama being ignored.

When nobody jumps onto the train-wreck-waiting-to-happen, what happens to the ranter?

Is there a thread that could exist where nobody responded because there wasn't a point in doing so?

Jeff

I thank all the posters for sharing even those that i don't agree with, which would be You at the moment.  I have learned so very much in reading and occasionally asking for guidance from those more experienced.  As for the wannabees and such it is my responsibility to weed those out for myself (yep learned that here too).   As for those i don't agree with well they have given me new perspectives even if i have rejected their opinions for my own life.  It also does not mean i have rejected them as people just that i have no use for that particular opinion.  Then of course there are the few that warrant ignoring completely and that is what i do.  I would very much hate to lose collarme as it has advanced my understanding of bdsm.

I have been fortunate enough to have met several local Doms through collarme, most of whom have been wonderful people as well as Doms.  I also met the One that i give submission to (and will eventually wear His collar) through this site and also met Him a second time through another site so well i just have to say i am happy with the results i have had and am glad that i can get guidance from many different view points, and all thanks to collarme just for existing.

No, collarme is not going downhill...there is no hill. This is a flat world with equal gravitational pull for all participants. Iam personally having fun and am entertained.

We ARE realists..the sort who would have explained the Sermon on the Mount as the focus-group-driven kinky disposition. I thought better of the kinkosphere first, and still do, but that this is not as a mask to hide behind, maybe a mirror to see oneself, I honestly think I saw more than a little of myself here at least, but really...as a sunfilled window. I sit far from my window yet see through it; a splendid view to an incredible whole new real world. We are required to become realists here, aren't we ?

We come here from all over the world in search of a better personal climate. Even with all the cacophony and cacography about the place. Some (like me) bring old-world ideas being from the kinky past before these sites so in a historical perspective, this place is still very new. Kinksters here have long argued, correctly, that inspired voices have a legitimate place in the public square. Limiting what we think or want to say to inside our own private sphere can relegate it to what the theologians have called the "harmless reservations of the spirit."

Time to leave the reservation, can't play it too safe kinksters, find some kink here, let alone somebody. Most get real and bring learned voices to the community. Great way to learn, relax and just maybe find the right person and yep...some with great sex and kink skills too.

Now all I need maybe is a very old Indian sitt'n on the porch throwing cigar butts into a bucket...or better yet, a 30something, redhead, overweight, golf club beer bimbo...let me think about this...cause I don't even play golf...but maybe...yeaa, that's the ticket, I'll become a HGG (horny golf geek.)
