Has anyone mentioned this to those engaging in the marathon philosophical debate on the Hubble thread? This information may have some bearing.

Well, I had a glimmer of hope that I might have something to contribute to the conversation. :-)
It's pretty deep stuff.

Is it really for you to decide what this site is supposed to be. And what people are on it to find?
Submit your list of rules as to who is worthy to be here to the site owners. If they take it to heart you can come here and revel in the midst of people who are just like you, talk about only what you want to hear, seek only what you want.
Ahhhhh heaven.......boring and safe.

Maybe if you just click your heels three times and say "There's no place like home.  There's no place like home.  There's no place like home.".....

Hey, it worked for Dorothy.

Of course this site isn't as great as it used to be.  It's because I can't be on very often anymore.

More seriously, things change.  I get the feeling, though, that it's more our perspectives than the site itself.

The board is still quite good.  Unfortunately there are a few in Off Topic that are completely destroying that section, but the block function works.  Other than that there is a lot of useful information here.

You do understand that somebody a thousand years ago decided that the word "dumb" had a silent b.

So the correct sentence would be "I dont know, Im a dumBass."

Just me, could be wrong.

Yep.. I came on here and had a blast. Then when I took off my rose colored glasses and seen just how many out there didn't know shit of what they were talking about...I knew it was time to step back. I use to get mad about it.. then got to laughing so much about it... now I just ignore it all. I learned a few things on here as well... so it's not been a total waste... just more so than not... good luck on what it is you seek.

There are several in here that like to pretend they know what they talk about.  The problem is that they are so stubborn and thick-headed and keep spewing the same bullshit over and over again that the ones that actually do know what they are talking about seem to have given up and left the site.

Now we're stuck with the same old rhetoric.  A prime example was all the crap that was spewed in that 9-11 conspiracy thread or in all those bashing threads.  That was enough to make you puke, but they kept ignoring the facts and puking up the same old bile over and over again.

Oh well, there is other good stuff to keep you going if you just look past them.

To be a non-paying site, I feel it is a good and very comfortable laid-back site.

However, the OP was merely posting what they felt...same as the rest of us do. Instead of bashing, flaming, and ridiculing...(which in IMHO only accomplishes people stifling their questions and words. Ya know...alot of people who are new to BDSM, D/s...etc. read these boards. Read them alot to learn or pick up on a thing or two. I know the OP or question at hand wasn't of that nature but the same should apply)  why not just be supportive and offer postitive words?

A little niceness and patience goes a long way I think...

I like this site and all it's ins and outs. I enjoy the good portion of it and accept the fact that it's going to have some bad elements. I like the diversity of the people and the conversations.
I don't think you're going to find what you're looking for even on a pay for site, let alone a free one. I think the only way that you're going to have only the people who you enjoy talking and discussing things with, is to open your own private chat and have an allow list that meets your criteria.
I'll just sit here and enjoy the posts of almost everyone here. All of the comments have worth, the good, the intellectual, the typos, the sarcastic, the flames.
Without see the good comments, you'll never see how others can be accepting and possibly learn from it.
Without the intellectual, you can't see the different thought processes behind their answers. It's a wonderful learning experience.
Without the typos, and their corrections, you can't learn past the education you received in school, be it from poor education, too much goofing off, or poor absorption lol
Without the sarcastic and flaming you'll never make it far in acceptance of what can be dished out, acceptance that people are going to do this and to toughen up your skin. Are you going to cry if someone did this in person, or are you going to learn to cope? If you think this is so harsh, believe me when I say that the flaming here is mild. There are sites on the net that are much worse towards people who're new, uniformed, or who ask stupid questions, or give stupid answers. I think this is one of the best sites for tolerance.
It's all in how you look at things and how you choose to react. Laughter is always good.
Even the kinkster can bring something to the table as food for thought.
If someone comes in and is looking for quickies, weekend bondage, or whatever reason, no biggy. There are plenty of them and I'm sure they'll find each other in short order.
It's all good.

~Big

As long as where on the Subject of  Math ?   tell me please ?    How does multiplying two negative numbers equal a Positive,    This is such a Flawed Law of Mathmatics that the Intellectual Community of  Mathmaticians have not yet been able to explain ......

--------------------------------------------------------------

well... remembering my math

a negative plus a negative... still equates to a negative

a positive plus a positive ... equates to a positive

a postive plus a negative .. will equate to a positive only if the postive is bigger than the negative else it stays a negative

-----------------------------------------------------------

You convienately left out multiplying two negatives making a positive .....

as well as a math Professor in Community colledge could not explain to me,  His explanation ,  You could not understand it .....

anyway not a attack on You Knight of Mists  just an attack on Laws of Mathmatics

Peace and Love      Rick
