Ahh universal healthcare - we already have it here in Canada - but deteroirating into two tier admissions. Overall it still works - but we pay higher taxes to keep it running,,,

The last time I visited Canada about 10 years ago, a Canadian told me that your health care system was funded primarily by excessive (compared to the USA) taxes on tobacco and alcohol. Is this still true today?
