For some reason I am thinking that she was speaking in generalities. Like a preemptive statement of feelings on a subject before someone brings it up. I don't think it was an attack on you, Discipline.

But then again, I'm an optimist.

Thats true, maybe it wasn't. I could also just be projecting what mons wrote below her, onto BD. But I do feel that BD made an assinine and general statement directed at anyone who would not change the dynamic of their relationship because of the pregnancy. That would include me and I would uphold my statement as one that corrects or contends her on her statement.

I don't think we've gotten any clarity on the question here, so who's to say we even made the proper point?

Pregnancy changes little with the exception of extremes. We were much more careful here through all three of my pregnancies. Though some of our play was modified it was still quite clear that M/s was paramount.

Ok, I just have to say this, resistance isn't working it's a smartass day -

MrDiscipline, if that's the case, the thread it pointless, if the aim is bad enough to lose an eye, pregnancy simply isn't a concern!

I don’t know, is it a new dynamic in the relationship alongside D/s? Or the way you look at your partner is getting additional perspective?

Is he still your Master or Daddy? Is she still your slave? Or there is more?
The question is for the Dommes and male-subs too.

How do you describe this “more” thing?

for this slave, absolutly NOTHING changed. I was still his slave; still his property. The fact that I was pregnant meant nothing to our dynamic. After the unmentionable was born, again NOTHING changed in our dynamcic with the one exception. This slave no longer ran around the house nekked

one must remember though that everyone has a different dynamic with their partner. What worked for my late master and myself, would not work for others. YOu have to go with you feel is right.

Women are pretty tough, and this is why - pregnency and childbirth is a huge physical challenge. My advice is to learn all you can about pregnency and childbirth itself, because it's a dynamic unto itself that changes everything, notably, your priorities.

Having said that, just because some things change doesn't mean everything has to - you're the same person, you just have new responsibilities.

Off the top of my head, I don't believe moderate physical activity is bad, in fact I think it's probobly good up until the very late stages of pregnency when you'l probobly need to tone it down, as esscessive physical activity or emotional stress can trigger early labor.

Emotionally, every woman is different: I wasn't in a D/s relationship wehn my ex was pregnant, so I can't help you there, but we did have some pretty freaky sex.

Main thing is, I think that a lot of women become insecure: they're in a very vulnurable condition physically, at the same time their body is changing in some very profound ways esthetically.

Personally, I find it kinda sexy, but just give some positive feedback to mediate the insecurity, which can be incorporated into D/s play or aftercare, and use your instincts.

Completely off topic but are you calling your child "unmentionable"?

Back on topic we had no problems while my wife was pregnant, but then again we are both tops. Our slave did alot of leg massages and when she got spanked it was with vigor...

serious answer...... you do whatever you feel comfortable with. obviously take more care and maybe don't push yourself quite so far .... but you would be pregnant not ill!!

I had at one times several articles on my website about this matter, as well my personal experiences. Everyone's emotional needs change during pregnancy whether they like to admit it or not. Ask the woman, she'll often deny, it...ask her partner and you'll usually get 'THAT' look.

Assuming all is healthy in a pregnancy with both mother and baby, play doesn't need to stop, but you should be aware of a number of things, usually towards the end of the pregnancy. I won't get too in depth as I think the best thing anyone can ever do..is there OWN research. But as a starting point:

There is of course the typical aches and pains but besides these there are pressure points on the body that can induce uterus contractions, one being a point above the ankle (right about where a rope or shackle would press) This point is used in reflexology to help induce labour.

Nipple play also can lead to contractions as it releases oxytocin into the blood stream. The SAME horomone used to induce labour in the hospitals.

Relaxin is also present in the blood stream to help relax the pelvic floor, expand the rib cage and loosen ligaments in the body. Thus it's more likely to do damage to connective tissues.

Blood flow is also another concern as there is more likely to be issues with cramping of the muscles, lower blood flow to the limbs.

Also many women find towards the end of the second trimester, baby becomes more active and reactive to outside stimuli and increased activity of Mom. It's a bit hard to focus with baby kicking, and doing jumping jacks.

Those things in mind, if she's ready, willing and able...why not?

Context has no meaning in this world anymore, a point that is lost on me from time to time. But still the thought of speaking of my child as unmentionable just hits a nerve with me. To me, that's what "What if we get pregnant" seems to be about.

WHOA! and the reply I was going to write was based on the assumption (MY assumption) that the question was "Can I still slap, beat, spank, tie, wrap, clamp, flog, etc. My now pregnant submissive?" Clearly this is a bad case of "what I heard was not what you said". So WHAT did the OP mean?

Edited to add: I read the subsequent post by the OP and I still don't get it. I must be very dense. I did think Silvermoon's answers on the physiology of pregnancy vs. D/s play were dead on, and I would only add that ANY sort of breathplay becomes much more risky for both mother and fetus, and if you have a kink re: inflation/injection of air or saline in the vaginal area, don't. The risk of embolism which is always there becomes extreme.

Of course, maybe Heather understood the OP better, and in that case I'd say.....never mind!

Then I reread it and thought that he meant how do you play with pregnant people.
