I believe the importance of a collar, as 'we' wear them, is its significance. There are obviously times when a black leather collar is NOT going to be appropriate or appreciated. I have several, depending upon the occasion and dress. Several black leather ones, one with cascading chains... one with D-ring for attachment to other toys or a lead. I have a solid chain collar with a small padlock at the throat. And then a thin gold collar adorned with tiny rubies... for those dressier, public occasions. The significance of continuously being "in collar" means more to us than the collar itself. Presenting myself to Master for him to attach his choice of collar to my body ALWAYS sends a rush of adrenalin/passion through me. Feeling and hearing the "click" of finality as I am fastened ... Color is preference. ~anna
