Is there really anyone in this world, who likes fruitcake?..LOL

Just for that, I'm NOT sending you one of mine this year.

Don't think of it as fruitcake.

Think of it as a dried fruit (apples, driednotcandied cherries, raisins, currents, etc), spice (clove, cinnamon, nutmeg) and nut (almonds, walnuts) cake that I soak in brandy for 2 months before you eat it.

I've never had any objections.

Hmm... yeah, maybe it was brandy and not rum...

Lol.

Every post in this thread I have written is FACTUAL and substantiated.

THAT is WHY it ruffles your feathers IMHO.

Go eat your canned ravioli from Wal-Mart.

MMMMM.  I already did and it was damn good.  I even ate it cold right out of the can.  Not THAT is kickass.  I have one more left and My mouth is starting to water.

I was not referring to this thread actually.  You did fine in this thread, albeit you have been hypocritical in your stance.

Yes..I do have some chinese made things in my home...that USED to be made in America...but, after becoming an INFORMED consumer not just one who will buy ANYTHING...I DO NOT buy crap made in China that I know exploits their people.

Quite frankly....they are inferior products anyway.

Well, for cuddles sake, and the sake of this thread, I put two more cans of ravioli on layaway.

To go WAY off topic...  sissify, you were doing good, right up until you issued that statement.  As a computer tech I can tell you that the Chinese make quite arguably some of the best computer electronics on the planet.  And the complimentary bowl of rice with every motherboard?  Dynamite.  I even have always had an affinity for Chinese tea.  Yummy.

I love ravioli, and I have several cans of it, from where I bought it at Walmart.

Now back to the subject of fruitcake.  I don't care if it's soaked in a triple layer of chocolate fudge with a lb of cream cheese on top, I ain't eating it.  No sirree in my best Soup Nazi voice "No Fruitcake for Rosa"

I don't.

I think I said the choice had to be right for the person. I stated all kinds of personal items of a more craft nature. I'm not much for knitted items, but someone once made me a burgundy colored throw by hand and it's perfect for cold legs on the sofa and now a favorite item in my home. And I can't use it without remembering the kindness of the person who gave it to me. When not in use it looks nice on the back of the sofa as a kind of decoration for the sofa. It can also be folded and used as a further support under a side sofa pillow.

Well, out of interest's sake I decided to do a Google search for sweatshops working for Wal-mart.  Did you know that they have more than 1100 overseas operations in over 48 countries, but not a single operation in the United States?  That is not true of the food though, because this ravioli is a product of the USA.  Interesting stuff.  The reason they are bragging about their falling prices?  Because they are forever scouring the globe for factories that will produce their goods at a cheaper price.  Already their employees are working for less than $.50 an hour, working 12 hour days 7 days a week.  No healthcare, nothing.  They have so much control whether a company lives or dies, and even entire towns..  It is kind of scary in a way, but rather cool in another thinking that a once puny concept can rise up to wield so much power in capitalist America.

They have been removed from KLD & Co.’s Domini 400 Social Index which provides information to investors because of sweatshop conditions.  And just to think, I really like that cool shirt.  I do not buy clothes, toys and stuff from them anyways (except that one shirt).  I only buy pet food if I happen to be there, some food products, candy, the rare computer product, video games and the occasional plunger (the dog loved them).  Other than that I just love going to a competitor and saying "but Wal-mart has it for THIS price" so I can get an even better deal... lol.  You can save a lot of money that way.

For clothing and stuff I am very picky.  I will not wear anything they have there.

The day that I have to walk into Walmart, and put some pearl of such great price on layaway is the day that I will stab myself in the chest with a fork until I bleed to death, sorry but having some class and having some limits are certainly seperable.
