I live in Elk Grove Village, IL. We are near O'Hare Airport in the northwest suburbs. There are a few things that put us on the map.

1) Patty Columbo & her BF Frank DeLuca murdered her parents & brother.
2) American Airlines Flight 191crashes & kills all 270 passenges & crew.
3) Largest business industrial park in the US (or world). Est 100,000 people in EGV  between the hours of 9-5.

I believe that's about it. If not those would be the top three.

Philosophy which Doris Day did you mean, the one who ran a fish and chip shop in Swindon or the one born in Cincinatti O High O

She worked for a while at WKRP as. Les Nessman's?  PA.

I entered DD's birthplace from memory. When I looked it up I found two birthplaces, so who knows, maybe it was Swindon after all.
She had a lovely voice but chose to sing rotten songs. IMHO.

I was born and raised in Glendale AZ

- home of the largest German AFB outside of Germany
- home of Marty Robins (when I was a kid I got to watch him pick and sing at the Richfield Station)
- home of the Thunderbirds (organized there when I was young)
- home of the Blue Angles (ourganized just outside of there when I was young)
- Upcomming Summer Olympics (about 3 miles from the old home which my sister owns)
- home of having the city water our grass for you (certain areas in the old part of the city) for $25 a month (hasn't changed in many years)
- home of the American Institute of Foreign Trade.   It is a graduate school that has changed names several times but is still located in the WWII barracks and hanger where we trained Chinese fighter pilots)

Now I live in Kingman AZ.

- Home of Andy Devine.  He got his voice from falling off the back steps of the hotel and injuring his neck.
- WWII bomber base
- Paiute home because there were 2 natural springs
- Major crossroad for rail and highway traffic.
- 20 miles from the only place in the nation that you can still walk under the old US Route 66.
- Car shows, air shows, and bike runs.
- Gateway to the West Rim of the Grand Canyon.
- 70 miles from the London Bridge and 35 miles from the casinos in Nevada

i was raised in Warm Springs, Ga... FDR died there: he went there to sooth his polio in the natural hot springs (i've never actuaally seen any of these) he built the "Little White House" and finally stayed there to die relatively painlessly

i now live in bellflower california, i've lived here for over 3 years and haven't heard anything in particular; so i looked it up and came to the conclusion that there's nothing special about this town... that's interesting, i guess

Manistee MI.

The tallest (recorded) man to ever live, Robert Pershing Wadlow, died here.  One of his shoes and a life sized statue of him are on display in the local cobbler shoppe.

Bridgeton is a city in Cumberland County, New Jersey, United States. As of the United States 2000 Census, the city population was 22,771. It is the county seat of Cumberland CountyGR6. Bridgeton, Milleville and Vineland are the three principal New Jersey cities of the Vineland-Millville-Bridgeton Primary Metropolitan Statistical Area which encompasses thoses cities and all of Cumberland County for statistical purposes.
Bridgeton has the largest historic district of any incorporated town in New Jersey; it is dominated by large victorian houses and a downtown area constructed in the 1920s. It straddles the tidal Cohansey River and is located near the center of the Delaware Bay lowlands. It has a zoo and numerous large city parks.
Although it suffered an economic downturn in the 1980s, immigration from southern Mexico has recently led to a revitalization. Immigrants work primarily in the agricultural regions around the city, which are among the most productive in the New Jersey. A significant minority of Bridgeton residents speak Zapotec.
South Woods State Prison, the largest state prison in New Jersey, is located in Bridgeton. Several other correctional facilities are located nearby.
