I don't end a scene ... I switch it up to relieve whatever has brought on the safe word. For instance, I switched my paddle for my long feather. The scene after the swift up, was one of fun and laughter, the point ... it continued, relieved my slaves feelings and pressure. It also brought her down with a 'thump' that was so funny, we found a new focus ... tickle torture. It was very odd, tickling WAS a hard limit for her. Long story why that is ... she eyed me up when I grabbed the feather, then laughed and the scene changed ... and she actually likes the tickling now. So a new facet was added. That only one example of why I don't END things ... if I am able, I just switch them up a bit and continue playing.
