I believe I was explaining a point of view that was misinterpreted and called into question. The presumption of my presumption, ironically, is on your part. My given reasons as I see them were not meant as complete absolutes, but rather observations of a trend.

Your above motives for age preference, while I feel are biased and (irony again) presumptuous, make sense, according to your point of view. Personally, I do not underestimate the young. Empires have fallen over men doing something so brash.

I agree.. I do not "underestimate" the young.. I simply dont want them owning me :)

And Qguage forbid I should ever do anything brash LOL

PS:  I don't really care, and usually admire your viewpoint, so this is not an attack, just morbid curiousity (It killed the cat, after all, and that was a damn good dinner that day)

Persian Empire when Alexander the Great defeated them

Caitriona -> RE: Age...again (9/28/2006 2:47:26 PM)

My previous relationship was with a man 10 years my senior.  Generally, I do tend to date people older than I am.  However, my Dom is 4 years younger than I am and I find that he is much more mature than the one before him.  It's just a number, really.  Compatibility is based on so much more than that.

Alexander the Great, Henry VI or the young King Zhou Gong of ancient China, come to mind.

By the way, thanks for the compliment, Benji.

ToGiveDivine -> RE: Age (9/28/2006 2:59:15 PM)

It's not age, it's attitude, chemistry and personality.  I've dated women 15 years older than me and the age facter didn't matter.

I'd rather have a fun 75 year old than a ditzy 25 year old to hang out with.  (and I am NOT suggesting that all 25 year olds are ditzy, but there are some)

Face it people, the older we get, the worse our looks get - saggy, baggy, wrinkly.  If that is important to someone then they are going to be tramatized when they get older and see themself in the mirror.

I generally avoid politics here, for good reason.

But tomorrow...
... or early next week,
the US Senate will approve legislation
removing the right of habeas corpus ....

This is possibly the most consequential
change in American laws (and values)
in the last 100 years.

It's stuff of empire-toppling magnitude.

DD, a saddened old goat

PS...
"What this bill would do is take our civilization back 900 years," to before the adoption of the writ of habeas corpus in medieval England, Senator Specter said.

PSS... "Mr. Leahy said the bill as written would allow the executive branch to hold any lawful immigrant in the United States indefinitely without charge. "We are about to put the darkest blot on the conscience of the nation," he said...

cravespleasure -> RE: Fallen Empires (9/28/2006 7:39:06 PM)

My only problems with age..

1. (Much) Older men can have completely different moral compasses ( certain higher age ranges had different expectations of women ). Only an issue because I have been burnt by it once. ( If you have a problem with your sexuality, I don't want to be blamed for it! )
2. (Much) Younger men can be too insecure, and not experienced enough to traverse the mental aspects of control/ownership.

Another issue that was brought up later in the thread with regards to Master vs soulmate.. why does one have to be one or the other?

From wikipedia: Soulmate (or soul mate) is a term sometimes used to designate someone with whom one has a feeling of deep and natural affinity, friendship, love, intimacy, sexuality, and/or compatibility.

I don't subscribe to the "one person for every individual throughout the entire world" thought. I do think that a bond formed for _me_ with a Master would be a soul wrenching experience. Perhaps I romanticize the exchange. I think I would be hardpressed to not see the world through my rosy tinted spectacles though. I also think that it's a label. I could perceive someone as my soulmate who did not feel the same way about me.

bbwsub41 -> RE: Age (9/28/2006 7:50:11 PM)

My problem is that I am only 41.  I look ten years younger and act 20 years younger.  I get lots of replies from men who are either old enough to be my dad or old enough that I just feel old.

I find that I have little to nothing in commen with men over the age of 45.  Maybe I am just wierd.  I am often not physically attracted to men past that age, and physical attraction is important to me.  not so much looks--I just need to be attracted.  There's a difference.

Maybe I am just wierd.  But seriously, I really do get on best both BDSM wise and Vanilla wise with men in the 25-45 age range.

MMshappysub -> RE: Age (9/28/2006 8:00:00 PM)

i have had alot of men hit on me around my kids age and all i could do was laugh because sorry i have to draw the limit there i would feel like i was messing around with one of my kids lol. and we all have limits .. and since i am in am about to turn 42 i would have to say 38 to 50 but nothing over that or under that.

Age to me is just a number that we tack onto ourselves that really says very little if anything about who we are.

Actually, age is not just a number. It is an indicator of how many years of life you have lived. What you have accomplished or experienced during those years is indeed very individual to you as a person. But it is still more than just a number that someone attached to you and said.. hey this is how old your gonna be. There is nothing arbitrary about age. And I amazed that it seems like the only ones who throw that phrase around are 20 somethings who think it makes them sound more mature.

Yes, i agree, it indicates how many years we have lived. Yes i also agree it is not like somebody is throwing it at you and saying "this is how old your gonna be". But as you stated "What you have accomplished or experienced during those years is indeed very individual to you as a person." is exactly what i was getting at with my origional post. Looking at age as a way to judge what accomplishments or experiences somebody has had or how they have grown from them is kind of insane because it can be so vastly different for each individual. That being said of course leads into the relevence of a physical age to one's character. Which i believe was the topic at hand to begin with, or at the very least it was the way that i understood it no mater how right or wrong my understanding was.

On a side note, piss is a normal function of the human body and nothing to really be impressed by, i believe Sir already realizes this and probably understands that he does not have to impress me to begin with. *smiles*

bratty one

BitaTruble -> RE: Age...again (9/28/2006 10:44:37 PM)

I have an absolute, unblurred age criteria for interacting in any form of S/m with another human.

If they are not between 18 years of age and dead, then my answer is always no.

bbwsub41 -> RE: Age...again (9/29/2006 12:25:09 AM)

Hehehe, looks like I am the wierdo out on this :)

Well, if the right one, regardless of age within legal limits comes along, I'll go for it.  so far, hasn't happened.

badkittyamy -> RE: Age (9/29/2006 7:47:00 AM)

I use to have an age limit of 4 years older/younger but i streteched that with my first girlfirend and went 5 years older then when I decided I wanted to be Lady Kat's pet it stretched a lot more because she's 11 years older than me. she changed hers to because she had sworn off women more than 5 years younger, but exceptions to rules come up so here we are.
