Does anyone know of a story/book that is like the Anne Rice "The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty" but is about a male serviceenslavement to a Woman?  It upsets me to reading a story about Female slaves.  Stories should never contain words of "enslavement to men".  Thank you.

thats your opinion, just learn that its all about 'different strokes for different folks' just because you want to submit to women, doesn't mean its wrong for a woman to submit to a man...

the story you are looking for, and could have found if you took 2 minutes at a search engine - is 'exit to eden'

Nah, it's kind of cute. He is just saying how he feels. He doesn't like to read about female enslavement. I don't like to read about football. We know what we like and don't like. We express our views. That is a message board, and that's life.

The book by Anne Rice (written another yet another name) called Exit to Eden is definitely of the femdom nature you are seeking. As long as you can pretend the horrible movie of the same name never happened, the book is actually quite good.

I agree that he is merely stating his preference when he says that he's uncomfortable with reading about female submissive. However, he makes a concrete statement about what should and shouldn't be stated in books. Books have been burned by people who make concrete statements.

In answer to his question, though, I can't think of any BDSM book off the top of my head that that involves Fem Doms but doesn't involve at female slaves in addition to the males. In other words, the Fem Dom stuff I've read always has slaves of both sexes.

I personally love Anne Rice's works, particularly the Vampire Chronicles. The fact of the matter is, female enslavement, like male enslavement exists, and such, it doesn't make sense to completely deny the side of the coin you don't care much for. I recently finished reading Tarnsman of Gor, and enjoyed the book immensely, even though I know the Gorean view is very one sided. Another thing, it is always a good idea to remember what you are reading is fiction, even if you decide to use some of the information in said novel to apply to your life. Whether or not the idea is there, doesn't matter much, when done in the realm of fiction. Anything is possible, and if an author chooses to include female slavery in their world, it is their choice. After all, it is their pen, not yours.

As far as books, there is the original masochist himself, Venus in Furs, written by Masoch about a man's search for a cruel Mistress. It is translated from French though.

undergroundsea -> RE: Anne Rice (10/2/2006 8:33:17 AM)

I give the film Exit to Eden some credit ;-)

It had a couple of scenes that had erotic value for me. What mattered more to me was that these scenes were in a mainstream film and may have awakened an interest in people.

And I wonder if presenting BDSM in the context of a comedy (even if it did poke fun in some instances) was a good way to present a mainstream film that had BDSM as a dominant theme. I wonder if Exit to Eden in the 90s made it easier to make a film like Secretary.

Cheers,

Sea

There are 3 books in the "Sleeping Beauty" series by Anne Rice. She also wrote "Exit to Eden".

I smell a troll.  Coming in here asking what sounds like a reasonable question (name of a book), but following up with a concrete statement that he hopes will get him the attention and approval of fem Dommes.

Miseri -> RE: Anne Rice (10/2/2006 1:36:14 PM)

I actually very much enjoyed those books...they were a present from my Master.

Actually, the books were written under the name Ann M. Rocquelare (I may have mispelled that).

DivaDuchess -> RE: Anne Rice (10/2/2006 7:11:33 PM)

A roquelaure is a type of cloak invented by Count Roquelaure in the 18th century. Anne choose the name A.N. Roquelaure because of its meaning ("Anne under a cloak") and because it had the right sound for erotica.

The book is very good ... I've read it several times, it's dog-eared *lol*.

DivaDuchess -> RE: Anne Rice (10/2/2006 7:14:09 PM)

I found that tidbit online just a few days ago ... I thought it was very cool.  I have no idea who supplied it though.

dicipline2 -> RE: Anne Rice (10/2/2006 7:38:14 PM)

I dislike this attitude among other subs/slaves...and it isnt just men but also women subs/slaves that have this same attitude.

I HATE being looked at by female subs/slaves and being told that I should "be a man, and be a dom" when that is not what is in my heart.

By the same token, I dont like the idea of men saying the same thing about female subs/slaves. (like above)

some subs/slaves of both sexes need to realise that one sex's rightful place is not over or under another and your feelings and preferences on BDSM are not universal.

Some like M/f domination (definately the older and more common) and some like F/m domination (relatively new....well...that depends) and some like F/f or M/m domination.

The common thread that binds us all together is BDSM in whatever flavor it is. So, acceptance of all forms of it need to be common practice.

This is one of the few things that irks me about BDSM...

Exit to Eden is an awesome book....I have recently opened a thread about this under "BDSM in the news" area.

The movie was watered down though and made into a comedy to make it more palatable for the vanilla audience.

But stories about Male slaves is alright?
Why the difference?  There are female slaves out there that are extremely happy with the life they pursue.
If stories of that nature bother you.. my hint... dont read them.
You might want to steer clear of the entire Gor series as well... femlae slaves are very wide spread and for the msot part very happy. Get used to it.

storys are best when they are not limited by "should-nevers"[;)]

dommemst -> RE: Anne Rice (10/2/2006 8:49:51 PM)

You should sit down and read all three of the Beauty books, since they contain plenty of male servitude, especially in Beauty's Punishment and Beauty's Release which contain the stories of the male slaves Tristan and Laurent.  You can always skip over the female slavery parts.  I loved the Beauty trilogy.  They were the first bdsm related stories I ever read.  The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty was hard for me to get through, since it is mostly about Beauty's enslavement and is very nonconsensual and femsub which is not my cup of tea, but there are plenty of male slaves and dominant women in it. The books get progressively better and naughtier and have a happy ending.

It seems that you just revel in the chance to bash others.  he is expressing an opinion while you are bashing him for it which is contemptible

Thank you, Smythe.  That was straightforward as it should be.
