Is there a clear cut number that a Master or Mistress may own?

As many as their happiness permits.
I'm noticing the happier, more fulfilled and more balanced and emotionally evolved a person tends to be, the more space they are able and willing to make in their homes to share that grand emotion and passion.

When We are upset, angry, or hurt - those numbers fall.
Thus the idea and goal of any and all slaves would and should be - Keep people happy, fulfilled, balanced, and motivated.

For some the number is 1
For others the number is 50
For others it's somewhere in the middle ...
And then others - prefer to maintain slaves online, or through other methods. How does this factor into such a question? What of couples, too? Does it matter if they are Top/Top to your head count? Or should a top/bottom have different numbers in your world? Nothing here is definitive and everything is subject to change - especially the number of slaves in any given household at any given time.

I have noticed the complete opposite.

Multi slave households are real work. I prefer one at a time, personally. Most poly houses I have seen involve endless drama, not my thing.

This would entirely depend upon what constitutes a "slave" or "Master" in one's eyes.

Generally, I like the number three, but the only real limit is how many humans one may keep, shelter, feed and maintain under a chosen system of governance.

As many as the particular person can reasonably handle... or I suppose as many as will allow themselves to be neglected if they choose more than they can handle.

I think 64 is a pretty good amount. I have 7 more to find until I get to that point.

Avoid even numbers, except for dozens.

13 is bad.

I would say the number of slaves you own should be no more than you have teeth, and in no case more than you and all your slaves have combined.

Would depend if you are talking about the real world r that little internet world where everyone has their own colony and the mothership is on the way.

We only have 1 slave, but have had many submissives over the years.

Yes BDSM law states a Master/Mistress may own a number of slaves which amount to no more then 1,254 LBS so one would emagine cyber slaves dont have a waight and there for a Domanent may own as many as he or she pleases as for the flesh and bone slaves well as Estring says it depends entirly on their size!!
