Crappy, I've donated money, wrote letters, faxes, phone calls in the last 6 months.
Of course those on the FAR LEFT won't like the Constitution Party as they support abortion.
And those on the FAR RIGHT won't like it for their own reasons.
I like it because they try to stick to the Constitution, something that is lacking in this country lately. Just ask George Bush.
And for the atheists out there it does say "In God we trust." on our money.
It just isn't good for any group to become entrenched in our govt. for a long time like the Dems and Repubs have.
I don't think anyone would disagree with that.
I'll be voting for change, not the same old crap.

popeye1250 -> RE: An open letter to Speaker Dennis Hastert (10/3/2006 3:14:00 PM)

Just on the news; "Congressman Foley *Is Gay*." Said  by Congressman Foley's Lawyer.

PlayfulOne -> RE: An open letter to Speaker Dennis Hastert (10/3/2006 3:44:40 PM)

and popeye?  What does that actually matter, the fact that then people he made advances to were underage is the issue.

Now you do understand why the money says "In God We Trust"?  I will give you a hint, it is the same reason  that the phrase, "Under God" was added to the Pledge of Allegiance.

Playful One, I was just reporting what the news said.
Don't kill the Messenger.

PlayfulOne -> RE: An open letter to Speaker Dennis Hastert (10/3/2006 5:47:33 PM)

Doesn't answer the question,  What does it actually have to do with anything?  You felt the need to toss it in there for a reason.

Plus I asked yoiu another questino since yoiu tossed the "In god We trust" out.  Do yoiu actually understand why it is there?  Had nothng to do with "belief " in God.

Popeye,

You do know that Jefferson and many others would be considered athiests today don't you?  They were NOT Christians as that word is used today.

Open letter to Speaker Dennis Hastert
Current mood: [image]http://x.myspace.com/images/blog/moods/pissed.gif[/image] pissed off

How dare you get on television and say that it's tough for parents to protect their kids and monitor who they talk to on the internet?
All you are TRYING POORLY to do is deflect attention away from the real issue. That issue being that you Republican lawmakers are more immoral in the bedroom than you accuse Democrats of being.
I have no doubt whatsoever, that if you admitted the Republicans have a problem, and did your best to kick ass and take down names, and come totally clean to the American people, you'd garner many more votes.
As it is, I predict you will lose one if not both houses and this country will once again go back to fairness and equity of life.
Oh I know, I know, the gas prices are dropping to make the Republicans look good, like they did something about the economy. And I have no doubt that the Foley matter is dirt dug up by the Democrats. I'm not saying the Democrats are perfect either, but damn, this yellow journalism and snipping has got to stop. The Republican party is supposed to be the party of monitoring morality in America, but you can't stand there and legislate morality when you have child predators in your own midst.
Both sides of the isle have to clean house, empty all skeletons out of the closets, expose all criminal antics and give the American people a clear choice of candidates who are ALL above board in all their personal, business and political dealings.
ONLY THEN will any of you be able to "throw stones."
ONLY THEN can you stand up there and pose the Republican party as the "moral compass" of our country.
I could also tell from your interview on CNN, you were lying through your squinty eyes. You knew about the Foley matter LONG ago. Your eyes, your choice of words and body language all said you lied.
With the invention of the internet and instant media, you can no longer assume you can "spin a story" and get away with it.
So stop trying.

Okay...

#1) Mr. 2006...you need to learn how to vent.  I don't feel the passion. It's time for you to vent.  Go on...let it out.

#2)  Sentences. Then paragraphs.  (Trust me on this).

#3) (I actually don't have a #3, but I suspect 1 & 2 will carry the day).

Speaking for myself (who actually did this in the last election)...fear.  I was fearful of another term with the homosimian and so I voted for the person I thought most likely to beat him.  I believe this is usually the reasoning behind such.  It didn't do me any good, either, because the fear that was generated by the machine to keep the cogs turning out-feared me; once again proving to me that fear is an illusion, but a powerful one, and a good deal of the masses are lemmings.

Until we go back to universal paper ballots, at least as backup, it's all moot anyway.  The elections will go to the highest bidder.

That's sad (and I concur....sadly, I did the same thing).

Hello A/all,

What have I done?  There is a cost-benefit analysis that determines what I do.

I can make a huge impact on a few people's lives as a mock assailant.

I can make a larger impact being active in my union and supporting their political agenda, which I happen to agree with.

I can make almost no impact taking time away from the first two things working a phone bank for some political party.

Gotta use what time I have to the greatest benefit.

As far as the whole idea that we have a 2 party system which is and will always be Whigs and Democrat-Republicans, I completely agree.  Which is why I refuse to vote or have anything to do with the Whig candidate.

Ummm, err.  Im probably wrong here.

Hello A/all,

I have a real issue with this.

Congressman Foley may or may not be gay, but this is not relevant to the issue.  He is being investigated because he is a CHILD MOLESTER who preys on underage boys.  The "gay" thing is his feeble attempt to avoid prosecution, prison time, and registration as a juvenile predator.

I suspect he voted for Mr. Monkeyboy KillthemallandletGodsortitout's war.

Lock Foley up in general and let the other prisoners sort him out.

Just me, could be wrong, but there you go.

That's what I would personally love to see.  I mean if we can put Clinton on the cross for getting a blow job from another adult, surely we ought to be able to put pedophile in jail and let the chips fall where they may.

But more importantly, what is "Whigs?"     M

popeye1250 -> RE: An open letter to Speaker Dennis Hastert (10/3/2006 8:47:07 PM)

I wonder what they'll say tommorow?

Hello BlkTallFullfig,

The Whig party was one of the two parties in the United States two party system around, if I remember, the time of (late 1800s, early 1900s) Lincoln.  I may be wrong (US History was not my historical specialty until WW 2 ended) but the opposition party to them were the Democrat-Republicans.

That is why I am always so amused by people who insist that we will always have the Democrats and Republican parties.

Clear as mud?

Hot off the presses:  "Former Rep. Mark Foley was molested as a teen by a clergyman, his attorney says."

The poor guy had a holy man after his hole as a teen... and was so disgusted he started chasing teenaged boy hole himself.

Emperor1956 -> RE: An open letter to Speaker Dennis Hastert (10/3/2006 9:10:49 PM)

I rarely post on politics, but I wanted to echo the folks (Sinergy, PlayfulOne, others) who called out Popeye for gay-bashing (and Popeye can serve here as a stand-in for the entire Republican leadership).  What does Foley's sexual preference matter?  For that matter, what does his alcoholism and his "I was abused during childhood" claim matter?  He is a hypocrite of the first order and a liar.  The fact that he is trying to wrap himself in a "poor little victim me" flag and some are letting him get away with it is the issue.  The other issue of course is that the Republican House leadership apparently knew about this "problem" for a year or so, and did nothing.  Because they desperately wanted to save the seat in a difficult election.

For some reason the idea of Bill Clinton strapped to a cross while gettng a blow job is strangely erotic to me in a fantasy voyeuristic way, strange... the thought of a lesser man being dominated like that does nothing for me...smiles

Do you know who the Dominionists are?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dominionism
http://www.religioustolerance.org/reconstr.htm
Do you really support people in favor of converting the US into an old testament theocracy? Do you know any homosexual or bisexual people? Do you really want to see them stoned to death?

Well the Constitution party is a false front for the scum like the Chalcedon Foundation and the rest of these "people."

BTW I don't oppose the Constitution party and its masters because they oppose abortion but because they oppose the US Constitution! The First Ammendment does not allow the impostition of biblical law and anyone with an ounce of sense and honesty knows that and admits it.
