caitlyn -> Thick/Thin, Hot/Not, Smart/Stupid (10/3/2006 12:08:18 PM)

Person 1. I’m attracted to her, because she is nice and curvy and has large breasts.
Person 2. I don’t like her, because she is overweight.
Person 3. I like that one over there, because she is so slender in her nice tight clothes.
Person 4. Her, she is all skin and bones and has no boobs. I don't like her.

Person 1. I think that person is hot, they have pretty eyes.
Person 2. Those are contacts.
Person 3. Yeah, those are contacts, but did you see the rack on her?
Person 4. Those are implants … not much better than an inflatable girl.

When you read the above, doesn’t it all strike you as shallow?

Thick/Thin … it’s probably how you were born, and it still doesn’t reflect what kind of person you are inside.

Hot/Not, it’s so subjective … I think if I ran into a groups of twenty people, five would think I was hot, five would think I was not, and ten would be largely indifferent … but no matter, none of that reflects on the person inside.

Thick/Thin, Hot/Not … people are born with what they have, and that’s that.

So, what is with all this talk on the board lately, insisting and insinuating that some people are stupid? I don’t understand how people that think themselves smart, can call other people stupid and think that has any meaning.

People are born with what they have. I’m not a very smart person. I’m a very good student, but that’s due to work ethic more than intelligence. But still … is a poster of average intelligence, ‘stupid’ because they have a point of view that some might not agree with?

Person 1. She can’t wear that red dress, because she is overweight. It looks better on a thinner girl like her.

Person 2. Yeah, but that thin girl is wearing yellow. She looks like a pencil. She can’t wear yellow.

Person 3. She is also wearing those glasses that would look better on someone hotter. She can’t wear those, she isn’t as hot as the girl in the red dress.

Person 4. Have you talked to the girl in yellow? She isn’t as smart as the girl in red, so can’t have an opinion.

Person 5. They are both stupid, because I once dated a really smart girl. The are just stupid.

 A one line thread on Person 1 would have been sufficient here together with supporting links/pics to prove your point.

Awww caitlyn, with all of that voltage you have GOT to be HOT!!![;)]

juliaoceania -> RE: Thick/Thin, Hot/Not, Smart/Stupid (10/3/2006 12:22:33 PM)

Some people think that stupid = someone that disagrees with them

I am somewhat shallow, so what do I know..smiles

CrappyDom -> RE: Thick/Thin, Hot/Not, Smart/Stupid (10/3/2006 12:23:24 PM)

Since my ex is smarter than I and the majority of women I have been with have gone on to significant careers, my standards for intelligence is pretty high.

I call people stupid more often becuase of a lack of depth than a lack of inate intellectual abilities.  I call people idiots who whined and sniveled over a consensual relationship between adults which broke no law but strive to defend predatory child molesters and their protectors.  I call people idiots who have supported position after position over Iraq that have all ended up in the dustbin of history all while calling people like myself traitors for making the predictions of how would and as events have shown us did turn out.

I call people stupid who think that evolution is a controversial subject to scientists or that the fact that 1/3 of the ice on the planet has melted doesn't indicate climate change.

And they are for the most part stupid because I did date the brightest girl in class and always have.

mnottertail -> RE: Thick/Thin, Hot/Not, Smart/Stupid (10/3/2006 12:28:52 PM)

NO, not so.

I am just on a different, but tangental topic.

That does not make your viewpoint or topic any less valid.

Ron

I don't think you're shallow. I think you are passionate ... and since reading your post not long ago, about how you had a son and worried about him being drafted to fight in this war ... I think I have a better understanding that my initial thoughts were completely wrong.

WhipTheHip -> RE: Thick/Thin, Hot/Not, Smart/Stupid (10/3/2006 12:59:36 PM)

Sex is shallow.  Why fall in love with someone from the opposite
sex?  Why not fall in love with someone who is 90?  Wny not
fall in love without someone who has leprosy?

Whenever you watch those shows that discuss problems in human relationships the question inevitably comes up...did/do you love him/her with NO explanation as to what is really meant.

Well...what is meant by the question ?
Is that relevant. I dont care if its not 'cos its a good question. lol

meatcleaver -> RE: Thick/Thin, Hot/Not, Smart/Stupid (10/3/2006 1:22:58 PM)

There's nothing more boring than having a date with a woman who has all her brains in her bra but let's face it, if the evening has a successful conclusion, who cares where her brains are! One of the great things about being single is that you phone a cab in the morning and you have your home to yourself again.

Sex is shallow, its based on instincts and while I find intelligent women sexier than dumb women, since I'm not looking for a partner, I can for go the brains for the occasional evening.

seeksfemslave -> RE: Thick/Thin, Hot/Not, Smart/Stupid (10/3/2006 1:33:24 PM)

How about if her clittie is in her throat. Is that OK ?

popeye1250 -> RE: Thick/Thin, Hot/Not, Smart/Stupid (10/3/2006 1:35:03 PM)

Caitlyn, people just have different opinions is all.

WyrdRich -> RE: Thick/Thin, Hot/Not, Smart/Stupid (10/3/2006 2:10:09 PM)

     I try not to actually call people 'stupid.'  I'm perfectly willing to use that word to describe their actions or ideas they present.  I see a difference, even if they choose not to take it that way.  I will describe individuals as 'hate-filled' or 'hypocritical' if that is how I see it.

toservez -> RE: Thick/Thin, Hot/Not, Smart/Stupid (10/3/2006 2:21:43 PM)

Those type of things are only shallow if that is all that matters to a person. In other words, if a person is only dating the person because of her big breasts. Other then that comments or preferences are just natural and I do not see anything wrong with it. We all judge and have certain things that we are attracted to. Does not make us shallow makes us human.

There is a man at work who has a severe thing for large breasts. It is so prevelant that he no longer even tries to hide the fact. He is a spectacular man that everyone looks up to and admires but he is not going to date anyone who does not have D cups fake or real. Does not make him shallow, makes him self aware.

Being self aware and shallow are not mutually exclusive characteristics. Yes, he is aware that he'll settle for no less than a big pair of swinging mamories but he is shallow to use this as his measure of women's attraction.

In fact, to unashamedly bring caitlyn's thread into this I'll go as far as to agree with CrappyDom and say he is absolutely 100% stupid as batshit to cut himself off from a whole variety of slinky, curvy, sexy, slightly overweight and down right dirty felines just because they haven't got a pair of tits you could lose a badger in.

I'm trying to put the shoe on the other foot here and I'm wondering if we'd admire a woman who says she'll settle for nothing less than a 10 inch cock. It's not exactly the source of admiration is it.

popeye1250 -> RE: Thick/Thin, Hot/Not, Smart/Stupid (10/3/2006 3:01:30 PM)

See? I like slender or petite women with small breasts.
To me, big breasts are just,.....well, too big!
I'm not a "Big Breast Man" at all.

Now you are talking about a fine line. Because I do not think it is so easy to distinguish between shallow and what someone is truly strongly attracted to.

Your example, maybe it is someone just being picky and an artificial standard and that would make it stupid. It could also be that a woman that wants a big cock needs one to obtain orgasm or maybe the site or feel of one is just so overwhelming to her that it truly puts her on another significantly higher level.

The fact is snaphots in cyber or real life are just snap shots and may or not may be the whole story. People who have artificial standards are stupid and can be missing a lot of great things that could be great for them. At the same time some things that are determined to be shallow things might also be actually truly important to another. Another example like wanting a woman whose a great cook. some would call that shallow but what if the man has grown up in a home that celebrates food that truly enjoys nice meals and knows nothing different. Does that make him shallow and stupid? Personally not in my opinion.

Well, have you ever met a man who had laid it on the line and said "if she's not a chef at Marco Pierre-White's I'm not interested?"

I appreciate a woman who can cook but I wouldn't use it as my basis for choosing a woman.

And, to use your example, the two aren't quite the same - i.e. saying someone loves cooking because they grew up in a house that celebrated food (unless of couse the man you speak of grew up  in a house where everyone had a huge pair of tits (even the men) and there were giant tits adorning the walls)
