I have vigoursly been trying to get out into the BDSM community and attend munches and play parties. But, it seems as if I am having no luck what so ever. Now, the reason that I am having no luck is because I am 19 and most places requir that people be atleast 21 to enter and what not. Another reason for the lack of luck is that I live in Kansasand there's not really alot of BDSM things around here in the first place. I know I have posted on this topic before so sorry for doing it again and I thank all those that helped before. But, I would really really like any help from any and everyone in finding a place that will let a 19 yr old attend munches and play parties. Now it's starting to become frustrating for me because I can't find anything so I thought I would reach out to see if anyone here could help me locate a place that allows 19 year olds in. Or atleast point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance. ~illuminati1

The Netherlands or Switzerland. Seriously ... most munches and such require that you be at least 21. Anything other than that is too close to 'kiddieland'. There is one other suggestion I can give you ... I have a BDSM 'smartgroup', we communicate daily online and we meet IRL about once a month right now. I set mine up for local to me, but ... they are all over the US. Until you can find a munch you'd be interested in attending. Or relocation becomes an option for you. BTW ... Have you told your current Dom, the one mentioned in your 9-18 Blog ... that you are looking?

When I started the group ... it was just like a handful of us. The munches were too far away and too impersonal. So ... I searched a bit online and found one place that now charges a fortune and while it will allow Gorean, it will not allow any other lifestyle that is contrary to 'the rules' ... I've been going back and forth with them regarding discrimmination for about 8 months now. Then I found 'smartgroups' ... it took a bit of time, so if you begin your own, be patient. I acquire people to the group through word of mouth, but there are other ways.

There are several groups in Texas that cater to those between the ages of 18 and 21. Look around, I am sure that there are some by you that do the same. If not, then start your own [:)]

When i was 18 and trying to get into the clubs and stuff ect.. i um.. basically met some one who was ALREADY involved in them who sorta got me a pass in. Granted i never got to get into Black Rose or any munches or ect - but i did get into two of the clubs in my area. So, i would suggest trying to talk to the owner/operater of a munch and doing your best to help them come to the opionon that making a special exception for you would be a good idea. (course i've never done that.. i just went with some one..) As for Clubs.. well.. same thing. If your Dom is older, ask if you go under his guidence and supervision.. (and of course no drinking) would be okay? It might not "work" but if you dont try you'll never know if its possible.

Do some research on Kansas law and make a presentation about why they should change their rules. Then, if the leadership is mostly men, wear a short skirt and they will change the rules. If it is run by subs, you are screwed but not in a good way. Or, as someone stated, you can form your own group.

Get to know some of your local players, hang around outside the munch, etc., and present your situation - the only reason I can see for excluding 19 year olds is that alchohol is being served - at 19 you can have sex, but you can't legally drink, and being at an event where there is drinking exposes those who are to corruption charges that can result in heavy fines. If that is the case you may find a goup willing to host an explicitly non-alchoholic event, or know where one is.

You are in a different part of Kansas, but many events and functions allow 18 year olds here. I will send you and email and fill you in on some of the groups, but all of them I am familiar with are still a 2 plus hour drive for you.

Some of "The Next Generation" groups allow under 21. A google might find one in your area. If there isn't one, talk to the leaders of one of the local groups and see if they will help you start one. Long shot in Kansas, but check at the closest college to see if they have a group. At least one of the St. Louis Universities has one.

In the TNG (the next generation) group in DC, our bar "says" you have to be over 21 to get in, but if you're with us, and we vouch that you won't try to drink, they will let you in at 19. Maybe your could approach a group about that since you want to go to hang out, not to drink.
