I was against impeaching Nixon. I don't think Nixon should have been impeached. I do think Regan should have been impeached. I think it was a great thing this nation impeached Clinton. This kept him from focusing on unimportant things like al-Quieda. If our nation hadn't been so focused on Monica Lewinsky, we might have been able to avert 9-11, but clearly what Clinton did with Monica Lewinsky was more important than our national defense.

Actually, i marched in favor of Nixon's impeachment....think Regan was an okay President...and believe Clinton might have paid a bit more attention to little things like national defense if he had not been so busy womanising. pinkee

Ron, of course You are correct. Clinton was never impeached. No U.S. President has ever been impeached. Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton both went through impeachment proceedings, but were acquitted. pinkee

The House decides impeachment, and the senate decides whether the impeached president is innocent or guilty. The fact that he was acquitted does not change the fact that he was impeached by the house. Second, people say that if it were not for this, Clinton would have done a better job with going after Bin Laden. Not true. He was sleeping at the wheel before this incident. Even if were true, then it would show that he was NOT a good leader in the first place and should have stepped down. A real leader would not remove his eyes from the ball because of something like this. Or would have stepped down and let someone else handle security while he faced the music.

I agree, both William Clinton and Andrew Johnson were impeached by the House of Representatives. Their saving grace is the they were not convicted by the Senate.

The US House of Representatives impeaches, the US Senate removes from office after impeachment by the US House of Representatives. At least this is what I learned in high school. Nixon was great president. There was never any evidence that he knew about the Watergate break-in before it happened. He should not have had to resign just because he lied to the American public trying to cover it up. Reagan violated a direct law. The US Congress passed a law prohibiting the Federal Government from spending money to help the Contras. There is no dispute they had this right under this US Constitution. Reagan deliberately violated this law and violated the seperation of powers, the check and balance created by the US Constitution. This was major breach of US Constitution. The majority of the US population at the time was against aiding the Contras. So Reagan took this action in opposition to most voters, and a Federal law directed at squarely at him.

Saddam had every intentions of doing the same thing. Even the inspection teams that we sent in confirmed this. Add to this the fact that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are walking on thin ice. Imagine, if you will that we never went into Iraq. That they succeeded in getting sanctions lifted. Saudi Arabia and Pakistan fall to radical rule. Iran develops nukes. Iraq completes its WMD program. Look at the map. We would have been in a much WORSE situation than what we are in right now. We would have had severe threats coming from a geographic area resembling a crescent in the Middle East. We HAD to go into Iraq. Our failure to do so would have put us in a worse situation. George Bush did the right thing. He has done nothing that warrants impeachment.

I never thought the impeachement of Clinton was about Monica. I thought it was about lieing to the courts. And yes, I think that had he not resigned Nixon should have been impeached. I liked Regan because he got the troops some equipment and money for training. Have you ever had to go out as an adult and use sticks for rifles and pine cones for grenades during Military Training? I have. really sucked. was fun only because you got to throw things at people LOL
