Rules for the Non Military (From a Veteran)

Knowing that the current state of affairs in our great nation has many of you civilians up in arms and excited about joining the military. For those of you who can't join, you can still lend a hand.  Here are just a few of the areas where we would like your assistance:

1. The next time you see an adult talking (or wearing a hat) during the playing of the National Anthem---kick their ass.

2. When you witness, firsthand, someone burning the American Flag in protest---kick their ass.

3. Regardless of the rank they held while they served, pay the highest amount of respect to all veterans.  If you see anyone doing otherwise, quietly pull them aside and explain how these veterans fought for the very freedom they bask in every second.  Enlighten them on the many sacrifices these veterans made to make this Nation great.  Then hold
them down while a disabled veteran kicks their ass.

4. (GUYS) If you were never in the military, DO NOT pretend that you were.  Wearing battle dress uniforms (BDUs) or Jungle Fatigues, telling others that you used to be "Special Forces," and collecting GI Joe memorabilia, might have been okay when you were seven years old.  Now, it will only make you look stupid and get your ass kicked.

5. Next time you come across an Air Force member, do not ask them, "Do you fly a jet?"  Not everyone in the Air Force is a pilot.  Such ignorance deserves an ass-kicking (children are exempt).

6. If you witness someone calling the US Coast Guard 'non-military', inform them of their mistake---and kick their ass.

7. Next time Old Glory (the US flag) prances by during a parade, get on your damn feet and pay homage to her by placing your hand over your heart.  Quietly thank the military member or veteran lucky enough to be carrying her---of course, failure to do either of those could earn you a severe ass-kicking.

8. Don't try to discuss politics with a military member or a veteran.  We are Americans, and we all bleed the same, regardless of our party affiliation.  The President (for those who didn't know) is our CinC regardless of political party.  We have no inside track on what happens inside those big important buildings where all those representatives meet  All we know is that when those civilian representatives screw up the situation, they call upon the military to go straighten it out.  If you keep asking us the same stupid questions repeatedly, you will get your ass kicked!

9. 'Your mama wears combat boots' never made sense to me---stop saying it!  If she did, she would most likely be a vet and therefore, could kick your ass!

10.   Crystal balls are not standard issue in the military.  That reminds me---if you see anyone calling those damn psychic phone numbers, let me know, so I can go kick their ass!

11. 'Flyboy' (Air Force), 'Jarhead' (Marines), 'Grunt' (Army), 'Squid' (Navy), 'Puddle Jumpers' (Coast Guard), etc., are terms of endearment we use describing each other.  Unless you are a service member or vet, you have not earned the right to use them.  That could get your ass kicked.

12. Last, but not least, whether or not you become a member of the military, support our troops and their families.  Every Thanksgiving and religious holiday that you enjoy with family and friends, please remember that there are literally thousands of soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen far from home wishing they could be with their families.  Thank God for our military and the sacrifices they make every day.  Without them, our country would get it's ass kicked."

It is the Veteran, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate.

I will add one more:

If you ever see anyone either standing for or singing the national anthem in Spanish - KICK THEIR ASS!

I have relatives that are & several of My friends have sons & daughters that are...

I value an individual's right to express themselves, no matter how stupidly (such as burning a flag), over a veteran's feelings.

      Ass kickings aren't always the way to go.  I'm much more likely to just dump a soda down the back of the punk who leaves his hat on during the anthem.  oops

Freedom is not absloute its relative to what is acceptable in society. You have the right to say how you feel about the war, you dont have the right to take away from the hard and dangerous jobs that the  soliders are doing. Or ignore the suffering their familes are going through. Its not okay to think that the only freedom important is what you feel.

LOL, funny.
I'm leaving tommorrow morning for my Navy ship's reunion in Norfolk, Va.
There'll be some former Sailors and Marines there.
We'll have fun renewing old friendships, reminicing over years long past and we'll remember our dead.
One of our guys will have quadruple by-pass surgery the following week but he's comming anyway.
I'm just getting over diverticulitis and my gut feels like I went 15 rounds with Mike Tyson but I'm going anyway.
We'll tour the Mac Arthur Museum and have lunch in the wardroom aboard the Battleship Wisconsin which is now a museum in Norfolk harbor.
It should be a good weekend.
Joining the military was probably the best thing I ever did.
It was the most honorable thing I've ever done.

I am a veteran -- 3 years enlisted, Regular Army, Vietnam era -- and I have little patience for those who presume to speak for all veterans, especially someone who is not a veteran.  Personally, I think your "rules" are bombastic, belligerent bullshit.
 
The lesson I learned while serving is that we should not put our military into conflicts they cannot win.  We could not win in Vietnam, and we can't win in Iraq.  I still remember the images on the evening news when Saigon fell, the overloaded helicopters taking off from the roof of the American embassy there.

Soldiers deserve alot better than the "baby killer" shit they got after VietNam.
 
So there's a crowd of people who really need an ass kicking. Actually the people who really need an ass kicking are the one's who use soldiers for bad purposes. They get rich while young Men die. Young Men who may have joined the military to better themselves, and had no problem with kicking some ass if our country was in trouble. I don't think quite all of them like the idea of serving the Megalomaniacs who basically, .have a group of countries hell bent on world domination. But they took an oath, and a Man honors his oath.
 
They agreed to get in harm's way, and risk their very life. And that is not all. They are sometimes forced to do things that are morally reprehensible to them. Orders are orders. Sometimes it is not even orders. When the "baby killers" did it, think of this, some lowlife sent that kid out with a grenade and pulled the pin as the kid left. "Take it to him, hurry, RUN !". The fucking person who did that is who killed that kid, the thing was going to go off anyway. Not only is their morality in question, but their judgement. What the fuck are you fighting for ? The children in the first place. Everything we do as adults affect them, and war is not for the asshole who cut you off on the freeway, it is for our progeny, or at least should be.
 
The person who straps a grenade to a kid and gets them to run to the enemy line is a gook. I did not capitalise that because it is not racial. I coin this term and it means "gross kook". I mean it.
 
A soldier, at least for hiis term of engagement gives up alot of other things. There is no more freedom of speech, no more redress, no normal trial if accused of misdeeds. There is no choice, and he must kill.
 
When you kill anyone it changes you in a way that cannot be undone. You look into someone's eyes and sometime you see their flesh and blood, or at least imagine it. This
 
could be a stranger or a loved one. That sticks with you for a while too, unless you

Or something attributed to him lol. Carlin has a page on his site devoted to dispelling a lot of stuff floating around online that he never said. Could be one of them, or not.

This isn't China.

People should be able to exercise their right to burn a flag or not say the pledge or sing the national anthem if they choose to.

Do I like it? Not really...but you have to ask WHY would someone do that...and no it isn't always because they "Hate America"

I pledge alliegance to the CONSTITUTION,.....MY COUNTRY...and NOTHING else.

A flag don't mean shit if the country it represents doesn't live up to its principles.

Some people are offended...for instance...when they see the flag flying upside down...

but, if you study flag ettiquite.....it stands for A COUNTRY IN DISTRESS. (SOS)

Blind obedience to Governments are dangerous as well.

USMC medal of honor winner Smedley Butler...most certainly QUESTIONED the Government and saved it froma FASCIST takeover by the big banks in the 1930s.

THAT is patriotic.

Just as Loyalty and Honor (when deserved) is.
