I think I also may have had in mind a passing reference to Madeline Kahn (sadly no longer with us):   "Is it twue what they say about your people?   OH  its TWUE!  ITS TWUE".

A great quote in a great movie, btw :)

Hi owned . Yes, it is a great movie, and Kahn was a wonderful comedic actress. I loved her in Young Frankenstein.....

"Oh. Where you going?... Oh, you men are all alike. Seven or eight quick ones and then you're out with the boys to boast and brag. YOU BETTER KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT. Oh... I think I love him..."

LOL Young Frankenstein was awesome.  WavSource.com has excerpts you can listen to.  It has both the "twue" one and the "all alike" one, but they don't want to be linked to other sites (a bandwidth issue) so feel free to go there and do a search - hysterical to listen to again.   Madeline rocked!

The flavor of the other side is distinctly different from the flavor of this side but someone coming in here for the first time isn't going to know that, so they bring their preconceived notions with them and then proceed to get lambasted for lumping everyone 'here' in with those over 'there.' People just don't like getting forcefully shoved into boxes, especially ones with the label of 'fake' and 'loser' on them.
...
So, instead some use the word 'twue' to get that point across.

Funny, I would have thunk that people, specially those here who have to be pretty damn confident of themselves to 'whip' or 'be whipped' don't really give a ratsarse what box someone thinks they should belong into... Specially not when it comes from someone as you say who is clueless...

If my entire formal education had consisted of teachers mocking me for not knowing things (putting me in the stupid box as it were), or having erroneous ideas I would have dropped out of school by 12.. Fortunately they chose to educate me with logic and reason...

Mockery is fine, I do it, I like doing it sometimes, but there comes a point when you carry it too far and make a mockery of the mockery, it simply looses it's intent and becomes as pathetic as the comments of the one being mocked..

Do you really think that someone who's clueless gets the point made by the use of 'twue'?
Heck, I can think of one thread recently where one clueless had things explained to him pretty clearly in many ways by many people and he still doesn't get it, so hows 'twue' going to help?

Anyway, the whole thing has become pretty darn stupid on both sides of the 'true/twue' fence... A bit like a runaway truetwue twain...

It's in the Arnold Schwartzenegger Dictionary of Movie Quotes. Since Kindergarten Cop was mentioned I thought it appropriate;
I await banishment.

Well. I am going to call the plays early tonight.........9 pages plus for the trues and only two pages  for the fakes thread, interestingly enough on this date in history, no fatgirl threads were started...one must suspect that several are always being contemplated.

Keepin' it genuine since...like 9am or so.

You would think that would be so, but it doesn't appear to be very accurate. There are certain words which are hot buttons, like a stranger calling a straight guy a faggot. Should the guy get all up in arms about what a stranger thinks of him? Probably not. Do most guys get that way though? Probably so. It's just a part of human nature, I think, to want to defend what we see as an attack and to take such things to a personal level whether they are meant personally or not.

And some of us try to do that here as well. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. A voice of reason is often lost admist the chaos.

Perhaps, since you see this so clearly, you won't be adding fuel to the fire when you know better. The choice remains your own.

Oh, probably some do. If they stick around for a bit, they might even learn something. Most probably don't though.. but I can't help but wonder if they ever wanted anything more than a bit of attention and sympathy in the first place. Often we see new posters coming here for validation of their feelings. I don't begrudge them the attempt, but do question their style of doing so on occasion.

I do believe that I made the point about the reactions a poster can give that would be considered TOSable and, in addition, pointed that out as a reason some turn to mockery. Even the mods have their limit with mockery though and will shut down things when they go so far over the top they serve no purpose at all. I have neither defended mockery nor engaged in it. I'm much more comfortable with outright flaming, (as in the case of the poster who came shouting with bravado about their right as a "dominant" to put their hands on someone without consent just because they have the word Master attached to their ass) but mostly I try to post reasonable responses to questions .. and usually with my own brand of humor thrown in. My own brand doesn't typically include mocking.

It will, no doubt, run out of steam in the very near future .. that said, it will no doubt rear it's head again in the not so distant future. You can choose to comment or not at any time and life will carry on.

A mighty fine response, not that that surprises me.. thanks Bita...

Just thought i should clarify to you that the comments re mocking were meant generally and not aimed at you.. Sometimes thoughts just 'drift' and are not aimed at whomever I respond to... I think you did understand this, but I had to mention it anyway...

Earlier i said "Reminds me of that one kid in class who has to disrupt the entire class just to get attention (as angelic referred to).  He (she) is like "look at me, look at me....ain't i important too?''  i had hoped that as adults, we would have all outgrown that stage....but apparently not  "

On another thread that i am on, Julia wrote ""and the little kangaroo in her pouch said ...'me too'" .. I never pass up the opportunity to quote Dr Suess or talk Fuddian "

This is exactly what she does.  In my opinion, she is just an ass.  She hides behind the net and 'Daddy'  (just read her posts....all she is concerned with is what her Daddy allows.  BS.  She says what she wants then covers it up with that).

She speaks against passive aggressive, yet that is what she is.  She even stated that she would be covert in her proclamations against another.

i have no respect for anyone like her.  And if any moderators every contact me, i will simply ask them to review her posts.  She doesn't have the balls to confront someone directly.....but she has plenty of posts that are covert...and derogatory...in nature.

I would really appreciate it if you didn't use my posts as a means of pushing your own agenda...

It's not really respectful...

" Would it be closed minded of me to say speak for yourself? "
was nothing more than a lighthearted joke... Not an opening for a fullfrontal assault...
