akasha and KatHouston (and anyone else who cares):  I make a killer dirty martini.  The secret is the olive juice.  I use the real stuff, but I filter it and chill it.  Three Olives Vodka, a touch of premium vermouth, shaken so cold it forms an ice skin...and I like blue cheese stuffed olives, but onion or almond work too.

Now I'm thirsty.

Jager shots if i'm partying with my german neighbor (She makes the BEST potato salad hands down!)
Patron tequila on the rocks.
And for beer the darker the better. Right now I'm leaning towards Shiner Bock.

Beer, damn near any sort. The best are Guinness, Harp, Sapporo Draft, and leopard. Close 2nds are Red Stripe & Kingfisher with a curry...mmmmmmmm.

Good Luck.  I don't know if it's sold anywhere but Michigan.  I live about two hours from the brewery.  A visit of the taproom is definately not to be missed.

Cabo Wabo Anjeo straight no sidecars

Chivas Regal when we go camping, though after 2 hours in the cold ass river it becomes "Chavez" when 5 drunk men yell for the "landdwellers" to walk it out thus turning a great blended scotch whiskey into a cheap watered down tequila simply by changing a letter.

Of course there is always the homebrewed mountain dew I made the last trip home with my cousins. But only when I want to strip the paint off of my throat.

What fantastic timing! I am well into a bottle of french red as I type.
Wine, wine wine! I love red wine, must be dry.
But I also love at the appropriate time the following.
Margarita (reg none of those fluffy strawberry things) on the rocks with salt, preferablly made with mescal
A GOOD southern sipping bourbon on the rocks, I keep a bottle of Makers Mark in the pantry for just in case
Gin and tonic with lime oh so fine
A really excellent vodka on the rocks
A nice dry champagne, yummy
The ever so delish.......port. What a great way to end an evening.

I am sure there are more, but with a glass of red wine in my hand and two in my stomach, I am a bit foggy...

Depends for me...
If i am out with the girls...it is yager bombs.
when just chilling...a REALLY good brew. Guiness is a good standby if i can't find anything else, but usually a local brewery can do better. So it just depends on my mood of light or dark. NEVER coors...it tastes like piss to me.
Though i have found that i really like a shot of Tequila this weekend. :D

Ron, if you like a beer you'll appreciate this. We have real ale festivals all over the country with brews ranging anywhere from 3%  to 10% loony juice. All good beers though. He's a link for one I went to last year with 70 beers on.

Try "The Beers" section and you'll see all sorts of wierd and wonderful beers called anything from "fox's nob" to "oblivion" to "dark side of the moose" [:D] There's even one in there called "yankee"

Basically, these festivals are all over the country and some of them have hundreds of beers on, throw in a few bands and it's a good day - the dedicated turn up with all sorts of cheeses and try a different cheese with a different beer to see what compliments what [:)] It's not my style but fair enough if you ask me. Regardless, they're good weekends and needless to say by half way through the day most people don't have a clue who they are or where they are.

Do they have similar beer festivals over there?
