I'm intolerent of ignorance. I think drycleaners should also have to check immigration status, & the guy at the Mc Donalds drive-through. While they're at it the guys at the car wash should look for drugs, oh & the furniture delivery people should check all gun registrations in homes.

I am not intolerant of obese people, I could care less how fat they are.  I can't tolerate people who think they are smart but are either stupid, ignorant, or both.

I cannot stand people who judge others merely by their gender, sexual orientation, race. I've had alot of run in's with misogynists of the male and female gender and frankly they sicken me. I will not tolerate gay bashers or people who hate people of another color. One thing I've noticed about most of the these type of people is they feel they can knock you over and force their opinion down your throat as if it was their God given right. I don't let them and instead of arguing with them, I just tell them we are like oil and water, we don't mix.

To me, intolerance is internal to me.  I personally dislike feeling intolerant about things, so I do my best to avoid it.  Sometimes I am even successful.

I am somewhat of a scamp, though.  People who think they are smart but act stupid, ignorant, or my personal favorite, obtuse, are simply fish in a barrel waiting to be shot.

Just me, could be wrong, but there you go.

I have an intolerance for racist people.  I do not believe that people should be judged on race/ethnicity alone.  I was married to someone from overseas and people would sometimes comment and it just made me want to choke or educate them.  Neither was really an option for the most of them.  Once I had children, I had a double intolerance for it, as now, any stupid comments were also directed at my little people.  (Never test a protective mama bear.)

I also know what it is to be in the minority.  When I lived overseas, I was one of the only white people I ever saw except for a few tourists.  There were a couple of people who didn't like white folks, or Americans, and I knew it.  I didn't try to convince them to like me, I just presented myself as best I could.  Some people do not like what they do not understand or what they are not familiar with.

Now I am with my Master, who is black.  I have only had a few nasty comments about this relationship, a couple of them came from members on this site.  I find that the delete and block buttons work wonders for this.  People in the real world don't ever say anything within earshot of us, not like they probably would...  Master is a wall of a man and I can only assume that it would not go over well.

Most of the things I'm intolerant of are things which breed hate ... racism and other forms of bigotry being chief among them. I'm also intolerant of people who take advantage of others without their consent because it sets a precedent which can have dangerous effects in the long run.

Well put, BitaTruble, I completely agree with this.
