I think that common courtesy is all fine and dandy, but I feel guilty when I open the door for a woman or light her cigarette........especially in PUBLIC. Somewhere, behind all of those "chivalrous" actions, is a tacit, unanimous agreement that women "need" to be taken care of in some way, shape or form. Now, I'm of the mindset that the womenfolk are strong enough to take good care of themselves, without the "omnipotent" presence of big, strong macho- men to hold doors, open jars, and do other, so-called masculine things. Acting like a gentleman makes me feel like a big doofus, unless I'm having really hot, nasty sex with the recipient of said actions. Just because a fellow citizen happens to possess different plumbing down below, doesn't mean that they should receive preferential treatment. I hold the door for EVERYONE; pretty girls don't get favors from Yours Truly. Why? Hot women are treated like gold everywhere that they go...........and unless you're fucking me, you ain't gettin' the red carpet treatment until you come around to the dark side.
