When Owner says X is the right way, friends say Y is the right way, the books say Z is the right and then the forums have the rest of the alphabet in opinions. I would think it could get a tad confusing for a new or even a not so new person

Dominant or submissive, if one is too easily swayed or confused by the opinions of others, perhaps the lifestyle is an overly risky venture.

Regardless of all else, we remain sovereign human beings. Our development should not stop because we have become a source of special authority or allowed ourselves to submit to it.

If people express anti D/s thoughts I think they are confusing.

But I tend to seek a sort of slave with experience, who already knows that her best interests lie in listening to her Master, not a bunch of half baked people who don't practice our dynamic.

But I can see where they have value to those with less of a knowing of thier core.

I'd want my sub to keep reading and asking questions on the forum. After all, I like the idea of my sub to continue to seek out to learn and want to keep trying new things. Perhaps he/she has read something that I missed or skiped over. For the most part I always like to hear "Master I read an article on _____, may we please try?

The thing I wouldn't like most is when my sub has some disagreement with what I want so he/she posts a question on the board and go "See, See what they said about this. You should let me do ____ or it's not good that I let you do ____"

My most honest opinion is that all problems, issues, etc need to be addressed to your partner.

I think the forums are great for sharing different points of view, sharing techniques, ideas, etc. I do not think it should be used as a counseling center. If there's a problem, take it up with the people invloved with the situation, seek relationship counseling...but don't bring it here, as the forums aren't going to fix the problem. The forums will only broaden the communication gap between the people in the relationship.

Like many others on here, I encourage my subs to research, question, discuss....ie. learn. Especially those new to the life. How else can they possibly give "informed" consent? The other aspect of this is...different folks use the same terms with different meanings attached. seeing that happen online should lead to discussion with the Dom as to his/her interpretation....which can give rise to not one but 2 or more activities!

The key is always open, honest communication between the Master and sub/slave.
