Level: I bet you were a real Titans fan today and are now singing the genius of Jeff Fischer. LOL. Unofficial word on Jr is that he broke his ulna and radius. Pretty sure that is curtains for him [:(]. He's been a great fit for the team and will be missed.

Ummm, I'm taking Philly over the Colts[&:]. They're trailing right now, but I am sure they will come back. * lights a candle to the football gods*

It's an interesting season so far.... alot of " unexpected" play off contenders. Pretty exciting to watch it all unfold

                                 mbmbn

PS: Yea, Level I have been a bit quiet. Taking a little break from my computer. Real life has been a bit hectic, but I do like to come back for this thread.

I always cheer the Titans on, unless they're playing Dallas [;)]. It was that way even when they were in Houston. The fact that they drove a spike into the Giants' hearts just makes it sweeter.

The football gods are napping lol. Seriously, I cannot believe the Eagles D has fallen off as much as it has.

It's okay to be quiet, just be safe and well. And we would certainly miss you if you left the CM nuthouse *smiles*. Take care of yourself, good lady.

: ) Told ya, Level.

*hugs both ladies and smiles*

I don't know which AFC team to pick.  I can go with the Pats, I like 'em.  I can't root for the Colts because I think my Dom would punish me in a not-so-fun way.  hehe

Junior's broken arm is sad indeed, what a classy guy he seems to be, thanking the fans for their support as he was taken off the field.  I guess this is career ending for him.  Also Troy Polamalu may be out for the remainder of the season.  (not that it matters anymore this season, but I hate to see him hurt).

I wish Pittsburgh would just look at the rest of the season as a chance to have some fun and play hard, and then get healthy over the offseason, try to get Cowher resigned to a new contract, and I bet you next year, they'd be back big time.

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/26/2006 7:17:29 PM)

I will hold on to my hope that they can move forward and win the tough games remaining and make it difficult for some others (Ravens, Bengals), just because I'm sort of hateful.   [;)]

There is talk that Cowher is not eager to sign a contract because he's being courted by another team (The Browns).  This is rumor, but it is the talk around here.  He has ties to that team from early in his career.  Regardless of what happens, the Steelers obviously have some work to do.  And in all honesty, they never should've beaten the Colts in the playoffs, that win was a gift.

maybemaybenot -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/26/2006 7:27:18 PM)

Really? Cowher may go to the Browns? Guess they aren't impressed with Romeo. I would love to have him back, but I assume he would be in line for another head coaching job if they fired him.
Troy P is a monster player. I have alot of respect for him. Hoping he heals up OK.

Level -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/26/2006 7:28:07 PM)

Nooooo, he won't go to Cleveland, that's too freakish to contemplate lol. And they have Crennel under contract, not sure how happy they are with him, but he really hasn't had a chance to get the Browns rebuilt.

Did you see Braylon Edwards chewing Charlie Frye's ass out on the sideline?

 http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Football/NFL/Games/2006/11/26/2502841-ap.html

"Crennel dismissed Edwards' behaviour as 'a young guy, a fiery competitor who wants this team to do good.'"

I would tell Edwards that if I ever saw that kind of shit again on the sideline, he'd be traded to somebody up in Canada or the fucking World Football League. Can't do that, but he'd get the message lol.

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/26/2006 7:36:16 PM)

All of that speculation about the Browns was started by a sportswriter in Cleveland.

http://www.cleveland.com/sports/plaindealer/index.ssf?/base/sports/1163757289188080.xml&coll=2

People are nervous because he purchased a new home (in North Carolina) and has not negotiated a new contract (which would've, should've, could've been done before training camp).

maybemaybenot -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/27/2006 4:49:25 PM)

Wow !!! Cowboys release Vandy and sign Grammatica.
Vandy being replaced by his replacement kicker. I am no Vanderjerk fan.. too much mouth and ego, but the guy is a good kicker. Some one will pick him up and I expect to see him right back to his old form. I suspect the rift between him and Uncle Tuna didn't exactly create an enviornment for him to do what he is capable of doing. He's a choker in the big games < wide right>, but then again he made that one against Denver in the snow.
I would hate to see him go out of the NFL on the note he is leaving Dallas on.
Interested to hear Level's take on it.

Yeesh. [:D]

Much of sports is mental, and it's obvious Vanderferp is in a bad rut. He may never get out of it; remember Chuck Knoblauch with the Yankees? Once he got it in his head that there was a good chance he'd make a bad throw, he turned it into a self-fulfilling prophecy, and did so, often.

So, get a new horse, ride him around and see what he does. It's pretty unlikely to be worse than what we're seeing now.

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/27/2006 5:26:35 PM)

Mercy.  I thought Vandy would last the season.  I expected him to improve and chalked up his difficulties to a bad case of nerves. What happened to the new song:  "Romo is re-energizing the entire franchise".

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/27/2006 5:28:10 PM)

And have you heard about Michael Vick flipping off the fans?

Level -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/27/2006 5:42:17 PM)

Vick, while being one of the most exciting players in the league, is not a primo QB, and I don't think he ever will be. I think he needs to grow up some, and get it out of his head that he's the Second Coming.

Romo is putting some zip into the team, in a positive way, and getting Vander#@!% out of the way will only enable the positive energy to expand. *warily eyes the TO factor*

caitlyn -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/27/2006 5:48:47 PM)

Guy was barely making extra points. He was always right ... maybe he is a Republican.

I'm more of a college fan, but this professional game in the snow tonight is the schizzz. Bret Favre is hawt.

Who woulda thunk TO would outlast Vandy in Dallas? LOL. Parcells picks TO as the lesser of his poisens. Amazing.

Good point about the mental aspect, Level. And that is why I think if someone picks Vandy up, he will do well. And Gramatica is no great shakes. I think Coach Ego has become delusional since Romo is now the second coming of Christ for him.

I  really dislike Parcells in a BIG BIG way, and it would not surprise me at all to see Vandy be OK/.good with another team. When Billy Boy doesn't like a player or have use for them, he can shatter confidences/mental attitude. Hell, look how he was with Terry Glenn when he was here < in NE> and look how Glenns performance dwindled each week under Parcells. And now Glenn is Parcells goldenboy. Of course it took getting out from under Parcells for him to fly.

Yep... another class act. Did you see his apology? He could not have been more insincere.

Yeah, remember when Parcells called Glenn "she"? That is some hurtful shit to any guy, especially to a pro athelete.

Ohhh yes, I remember it well.
After Parcells left NE, Glenn got into a little trouble with
" behavior". NFL and team suspension under Bilichick's reign for refusing drug testing. Funny how Parcells loves those bad boyz..  Well at least Glenn cleaned up nicely, I loved him when he was here and he is the best WR you have, hands down. Turned out to be a classy guy. [:D]

PS- yup Farve is hot tonight. Since we have a first rounder coming to us from Seattle for the Branch deal.. I am loving this game.  Go Packers !
