Lordandmaster -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/27/2006 8:26:32 PM)

Is that the same guy who pulled a muscle celebrating a kick and missed the rest of the season?

Wow !!! Cowboys release Vandy and sign Grammatica.

maybemaybenot -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/27/2006 8:40:49 PM)

Nope, that was his brother, Bill Gramatica of the AZ Cardinals.

Martin played for the Buccs when they won the SB and had amazing stats. he then went to Indy when his accuracy was wavering. He primarily did kick offs. Pats signed him this year but released him and kept Ghost.

Back in the day Martin was a monster kicker.

From Fox Sports online:

"Gramatica was out of the NFL last season and cut by New England in the preseason when the Patriots decided to go with rookie Stephen Gostkowski.

When Adam Vinatieri was injured earlier this season, Gramatica played three games for the Colts. He attempted only one field goal, making a 20-yarder.

"That really doesn't show much, but physically I feel good," Gramatica said. "I had surgery a couple of years ago, and I think I fixed the problem that I had in my leg."

Have faith, Level ! Parcells is quite pleased with his new aquisition.

"I know what his track record is. And I know in 2003-2004, I know why he had some problems kicking and I know why he was out of football in 2005, and I know where he was this summer," Parcells said. "I have good information from the people that had him this summer; they were very positive about it. I looked at everything."

Okay...... but I had pictures in my head of his freakish and damaged leg flying off and zooming through the uprights during a kick. [;)]

Maybe it's bionic now.... he'll be kicking FGs from the 20 yard line; our 20 lol.

OR:
Maybe  " the people who had him" < Patriots > gave him a bum steer. We all know the Parcells-Belichick relationship hasn't been excatly cozy since BB left the Jets.

NM, forget what I just said. We all know how forthcoming Belichick is with sharing info. I'm sure he wouldn't do such an evil thing.[sm=evil.gif]

Seriously tho Level, Gramatica only played one pre season game up here. He made the field goals and made the extra points.

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/29/2006 6:19:34 AM)

I am looking forward to Thursday night's game.  Ravens at the Bengals.

maybemaybenot -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/29/2006 12:47:37 PM)

I don't get the NFL channel on my cable service [:(].

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/29/2006 12:53:02 PM)

Boohoo!  You are missing some fun stuff.  The replays of Sunday's game, and now the Thursday night games.  They also send their cam around the league and do interviews with coaches and players.  Of course they do have that goofy cheerleader playoff stuff as well.  [8D]  Last night the player from the Ravens who beat up on Big Ben was interviewed.  He was talking about how big Ben is and how difficult it is to get a good hit on a guy that big.  And he was proud to have done it.  hehe

maybemaybenot -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/29/2006 3:46:15 PM)

I have heard that Katy. Supposedly it will be offered in a " few weeks" according to the local cable office. Of course a few weeks could be the end of the season. My sister has it and I get to catch a little when I visit.  Hopefully it will be here soon, seems odd to me we don't have it. I don't live in the boonies and it's Comcast.. so go figger.

I've sent a letter to Jerry Jones asking him to go look up Rafael Septien or Efren Herrera.... those guys never let us down.....

maybemaybenot -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (11/29/2006 4:49:32 PM)

I'm not so sure even Jerry Jones would take Septien back.
He had that little incident of being convicted of crimes against an unmentionable.

You're right, mbmbn, I'd forgotten about that. Scratch him, that's worse than Vanderjadt.

Bengals prevent Ravens from being first to clinch playoff spot, 13-7:

I feel your pain.

Titans beat Colts, 20-17.

Jets over Green Bay 38-10.

Looks like the Pats will win over Detroit, 28-21.

Lordandmaster -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/3/2006 1:20:32 PM)

The Browns are definitely the best 4-8 team in football.  At the moment, the Bills are trying to mount a furious comeback against the Chargers; we'll see what happens.

Edited to add: They didn't get the onside kick, so it looks like the Bills are going to lose.

The Jets reminded everyone of how badly the NFC sucks by clobbering the Packers despite two Pennington interceptions.

Level -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/3/2006 1:43:58 PM)

I don't know how good the Browns are, Lam, but I agree with you on the state of the NFC.

Saints hammer the 49ers, 34-10. Reggie Bush with 4 TDs.

Chargers and Pats hold on, Cards and Bears win.

Dallas trailing Giants 7-0... Grammatica watch starts, he's 0-1.

Lordandmaster -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (12/3/2006 1:53:53 PM)

Put it this way...the Browns would be somewhere around 7-5 in the NFC.  Well, maybe 6-6.
