Dunno if that's true as much as the Jets doing it to themselves.

Yeah, the Jets put themselves out of our misery. I wonder who will be looking for a new job at the end of the season.

Tebow.
Sanchez, who the Jets just signed a $58 million contract with.
Everyone who helped make the decision to pay Sanchez $58 million.
Ryan.
Their defense has fallen off too.
stef, the question you should be asking is, who will be left? If it wasn't for the salary cap, I'd expect a serious housecleaning.

The good news is that they can start McElroy now. Let the fans have something, and see if he can play QB. Because God knows Sanchez can't, and Tebow looked awful.

If you owned the BAL Ravens, what would you play Joe Flacco?

I don't think that Flacco is the answer for the Ravens. So play Tyrod Taylor and have a look at him.

The Ravens are screwed. They need a decent franchise QB, and they'll pick low in the draft.

I would tend to disagree. Flacco is a very capable QB with an elite arm. The team can win with him and possibly make the SB too, but he needs a lot of support (a strong defense, a good running game, a solid OL.)

How much should such a QB be paid?

Beyond Tom Brady, Aaron Rogers, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning -- all the other NFL teams need to field someone behind center. What's the pay scale underneath of "elite."

BAL is 9-5 with a slew of injuries, FA defections, and aging defensive stars. All their top defensive players are out or nicked up. So, their record is actually pretty impressive. The question now is, has the the team hit-the-wall?

Also, is Alex Smith getting screwed in SF?

Yes. And No.

I have mixed feelings about this situation. An injury shouldn't sideline a starter if it isn't season ending but at the same time the coach has an obligation to field the best team he can. What if the Steelers had started Batch when Ben was injured and Charlie did really well and won every game in Ben's absence. Do you start Ben as soon as he is able to play knowing he will be rusty and with batch performing well?

It's a tough call. Sucks to be Alex.

Raiders and 49ers won on Sunday, and I'm still elated. Hope the 49ers go to the Super Bowl and bring us back a ring!

The Patriots are playing the Jags. Think they'll rest their starters for the game? That's really the only suspense in the game.

Nahhh, BB won't sit them unless we are blowing them out in the third and even then.. it's questionable. And he will never give you a straight answer about it when asked. lol.
I think you have to be a Pats fan to be OK with his non answer answers.

If the Patriots are up by a decent amount against Jacksonville or Miami, would he selectively start resting some of your starters?

“I would do the same thing that I always do in every game and that’s to try to do what’s best for the football team,” Belichick said, reverting more to form. “There are a lot of things that go into that. Whatever I feel like is best for the football team, that’s what I’m going to try to do. Every game, every week, every situation I’m going to try to do what I think is best for the team. There are a lot of things to take into consideration on that. Whatever it is, I’m not saying it’s all right, I’ve probably made more mistakes than anybody around here, but the intent is to do what’s best for the team.”

Good Lord. I thought the Seattle - SF game would be hard fought. I never expected a blowout like this.

And I owe the Jags an apology. They fought the Patriots well.

The game was on a tv two rooms away, and all I heard for the whole time was their fans roaring. Good stuff.

Looks like the Dallas/Deadskins game next week is basically a first round playoff game.

The Colts go back to Baltimore for a playoff game; gotta be hard for some of the folks in Baltimore.
