Is anyone else getting tired of the Super Bowls being played in the same places year after year? I am... I don't care if the weather is warm...or how big a stadium is... I think the Super Bowl should rotate through each and every venue in the league. Well, you're in luck...next year's Super Bowl is supposed to be in New York City (well...New Jersey). As for the real reason why they don't play the Super Bowl in places like Cleveland, Minnesota, Green Bay, Boston, etc., it's not the quality of the game. It's because the sports media will whine their asses off that it's cold. The celebrities who come for all of the parties won't be able to wear their skimpy dresses, because it's cold. The players would gladly show up and play in any weather, I'm sure (it's the Super Bowl, after all); it's the other people who would whine and bitch and moan. And if there's less of a party or a negative perception of the Super Bowl, advertisers won't be as interested (AS interested...there will still be lots of advertisers ponying up lots of money). Hypothetical: Anchorage Alaska gets a NFL team... and builds an open stadium. I think that would be hilarious...the ultimate home-field advantage. They'd better draft well, though...not enough of a night life in Anchorage to attract quality free agents.
