Good !!! The NFL needs to start cracking down on these guys. I'm all for it.

In unrelated news:
Michael Irvin is being sued for assaulting  his construction guy:

http://www.khou.com/news/state/stories/khou070410_ac_michaelirvin.a4c2018.html

I wonder if the guy ever filed a police report and if he did how it was kept so hush hush all these months. [8|]

Irvin beat up on a disabled guy.  Yeah, Level, nice.
Yes, it's time they start cracking down on these players.  " Jones' off-field incidents include 10 times where he was interviewed by police."

"Accused"! [>:]

I'm sure the playmaker was simply helping the guy steady himself. [8D]

But seriously, I agree on the crackdown; these guys shouldn't get slack just because they're atheletes, or wealthy.

One of Maybe's boys retired today....Drew Bledsoe (I guess he's one of Level's boys too)

caitlyn -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (4/12/2007 1:33:56 PM)

Some would insist that Drew retired two seasons ago.

I really can't say enough good things anout old Stone Legs. Seriously, tho.. he started the turn around with the Patriots and got us going in the right direction. When he got benched, in favor of Tom Brady, he did it with grace and style. When he left us, he took out a full page " farewell to the fans " editorial in both Boston newspapers. He was a stand up act, and we fans have nothing but respect and appreciation for him around here.

I hope to see him on one of the NFL shows one of these days.

Lynn Swann considers a run for the U.S. House:

WASHINGTON (AP) - Former Pittsburgh Steelers star Lynn Swann said Thursday he is weighing a run for Congress.
Swann, a Republican who lost Pennsylvania's gubernatorial race last fall, said he has been approached to run for the Pittsburgh-area seat held by Democratic Rep. Jason Altmire.

Drew has the looks to be on the air.
About Swann, he visited my geography during his guber run.  He's not a big guy, physically, I don't know why that surprised me.

When I see Michael Irvin mentined with a crackdown, I think that he'd be disappointed there isn't a hoedown too.

(ya know he's fond of crack and hos)

I was just thinking as I was reading the posts, we are almost at page 60. [sm=whoa.gif]
I figure by the time we get over Draft weekend, we should be there.
Shouldn't we have a party or something?
And any bets on how many pages we will be at by the fisrt game of the Reg Season in Sept?  < page 73, for me>

Yeah, he was a graceful player, certainly not a Hines Ward-type of physical reciever.

DENVER (AP) - The Denver Broncos have released five-time Pro Bowl linebacker Al Wilson.Wilson said Friday the team had told him the news the previous night. A Broncos spokesman declined comment earlier in the day.
"I've had a great time here. I feel like I've got a few more good years in me, too," Wilson said.

(If Wilson is healthy, this would be a fantastic pickup for some team - Level)

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - As the losses and sacks kept piling up, football stopped being fun for David Carr.
In five seasons in Houston, the No. 1 pick in the 2002 draft went 24-56 with no playoff appearances, and a body bruised and battered from an NFL-high 249 sacks.
Now with Carolina, Carr is smiling again - even though he will be a backup for the first time.

The moment was a reminder of how, even after enduring hardship, the payoff in joy can be fleeting.

Oklahoma running back Adrian Peterson and his family – including his father, mother and stepfather – were sitting in a room, listening to the sales pitch from agents Tom Condon and Ben Dogra. Condon went through all the numbers for what Peterson, who is expected to be the first running back selected during the NFL draft April 28-29, could be expected to make as a rookie.

All the while, there was an overstuffed bag on the floor next to where Dogra was sitting. Condon had asked Dogra a couple of times to tell him what was inside, but Dogra said he'd show him later.

Of course we should have a party.  I love this thread.
The Draft is almost here.  Brady Quinn thinks he should be first.

Level -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (4/17/2007 3:30:45 PM)

Hi Katy [;)]. Brady Quinn will make a good NFL QB, in my opinion, but first? Nah.... [:D]
