INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Tony Dungy is a deeply religious man who puts his faith first in his life, even above family and football. So his support of a proposed gay-marriage ban likely surprised few.
What was surprising is the Indianapolis Colts' quiet coach shared his position publicly, sparking discussion about the impact of the Super Bowl winner's comments.

Dungy caused a stir Tuesday when he accepted the "Friend of Family" award from the conservative Indiana Family Institute.

The coach told the audience he supported the group's efforts to amend the Indiana constitution to define marriage as between one man and one woman.

"I appreciate the stance they're taking, and I embrace that stance," Dungy told the crowd of about 700 people.

Dungy said his comments should not be considered gay bashing.

I think you are finding out why about a third of the people in Houston, are actually Cowboy fans.

David Carr has his problems, but isn't entirely to blame. Things might go a little easier for him if Andre Johnson would actually run a fucking route when the ball isn't coming his way, such that every defensive back in the world doesn't know exactly where David is throwing the ball on every play.

Having a running back that will actually consider blocking on pass plays might help. I know people get hurt blocking and that might screw up the fun at the strip club later ... but, it might help a bit.

I personally hope David Carr catches on somewhere, and gets a chance to ram it up the Texan's butt.

What about Tony Dungy's butt?

The Texans are going backwards, caitlyn [:)]. It surprises me that they are, but desperation often breeds bad judgement.

I missed the show, but saw some highlights; it looked like he did pretty well, but I've always thought he has a good sense of humor.

Joe Theismann will no longer be part of the network's "Monday Night Football" booth and will be replaced by Ron Jaworski, the former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback.

Yes, I saw it, good stuff.
There was also a locker room skit where Precious danced, I laughed, it was funny too.
But nothing tops the United Way spoof.
The guy has always been able to laugh at himself.

I don't care much for Theisman, I like Jaws, co hosts one of the best football shows on the air "NFL Matchup" on espn.

CHICAGO (AP) - The standoff between Lance Briggs and the Chicago Bears took another turn Saturday, when general manager Jerry Angelo said he wants the Pro Bowl linebacker to return next season but a multiyear contract is unlikely. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/6628632?MSNHPHMA
CLEVELAND (AP) - The Cleveland Browns seem to be beating the bushes for a veteran quarterback after all.General manager Phil Savage confirmed Thursday night that that he contacted Kansas City GM Carl Peterson about Trent Green, a two-time Pro Bowl quarterback, during this week's NFL meetings in Phoenix. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/6625642
DECATUR, Ill. (AP) - Chicago Bears fan Scott Wiese is no Peyton Manning after all. Macon County Judge Katherine McCarthy ruled this week that Wiese can't legally call himself Peyton Manning because it would be too confusing and might infringe on the privacy of the Indianapolis Colts quarterback. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/6621140

NEW YORK (AP) - Ricky Williams, the former NFL star who played in Canada last season after being suspended for a year for substance abuse, has applied for reinstatement.
Williams' agent, Leigh Steinberg, said the running back, who will turn 30 in May, had sent a letter asking that he be allowed to return to the Miami Dolphins.
