Status: offline 		I have two annual rituals that I do every November.

1)  On my birthday (the 13th), I hide from everyone I know and spend the day alone.  It's a good feeling, a whole day of isolation, and it keeps things in perspective (for other people) -- I chose my birthday so I wouldn't have to remember an arbitrary date.  That night, I take a long interstate highway drive.  It's marvelous.

2)   The day before Thanksgiving, I fast.  For at least those twenty-four hours, I don't eat anything.  It's another perspective thing: when the following holiday is what's become America's Day of Gluttony, a brief reminder that a lot of the world is still starving (including many Americans) can go a long way.  Sometimes other people fast, too.  I got the idea from a Foxtrot comic strip about a decade ago, and I've been doing it for about that long.

had quadrupal bypass  10 hrs in surgery 5 days in intensive care  woke on 9/11 still has trouble with that but im over coming  that
