For me- it would be Barrack Obama for President with Hillary as his Vice president. (Hey, I like Hillary- what can I say.  Besides, I can't think of another Democrat  to put in that slot.  Although John Edwards is a nice piece of eye candy).

This would ensure  that Barrack would be very protected because Hillary would be the next in line. This same premise protected Bush being no one wanted Chaney in the top spot.  Plus, Hillary has the experience that Barrack lacks right now.

What is your winning team- ANY party.

For me it'd be Lou Dobbs for President in any party other than "D" or "R".
Vice President no-one currently "in" politics.
An unknown.
I could say Elizebeth Dole or someone else but I just don't like "career" politicians.

Yup.... this is a tough one.  Nobody has totally clean hands.

I wonder if Lieberman has a prayer? He's shot himself in the foot a couple times too.  Anyhoo.. I'm just trying to think of political combinations that would "work".

I used to like McCain..but talk about "flip-flop".  I have no idea where he stands anymore.  I'm hoping to get other ideas with the post here :)  I'm trying to be objective.

Lotus, yeah, I think John Mc Cain is all done in politics.
There's been talk of him and our senator, Lindsey Graham running but after that "Mc Cain/ Kennedy" "Amnesty" plan for illegal aliens in the senate those two are finished.
Graham won't be re-elected in this state that's for sure!
One thing about senators, they have an abysmal record when it comes to running for President! Many, many senators have run.
I think the last senator elected President right out of the senate was John Kennedy!
The Senate is too much of an "Old Boys Club." And they seem to be totally out of touch with the American People.
Usually it's Governors of states that do well running for President.
I bet we'll see Gov. Mitt Romney from Massachusetts running.

John McCain if it is his pre-2005 form with a Democratic House and Senate. I can only think he is changed to suck up to the Republican party for the primaries. Nice try but I doubt the money people will be fooled.

Barrak very promising but very inexperienced. Maybe in 2012. I like Hillary but she does not have a snowball chance in heck to win in a genreal election. Too many soccer moms hate her with a passion! Edwards is a wimp, but a cute wimp, who made Kerry look macho.

I like Bayh and Bidon for the Democrats although Bidon has too many skeletons already out of the closet to have any shot.

I prefer birthday parties or Christmas parties... but that is because of cake and icecream and other assorted goodies

Yes, I stand corrected, those both work for me too.  Let's meet 1/2 way and have a birthday (or Christmas) party with spiked punch.

I agree.. I wouldn't wish the next presidency on  anyone! :)  Hopefully by 2012, things might be under control.

I have been thinking about this a lot, and actually talking to my roommate about it just the other day.

I like Bayh, but I don't think he could get the pres. nomination because of his age.  I think he would make a great vice-pres though, and could probably be elected pres. with the next election after that term.  As president, I had thought of McCain, but he does go back and forth a bit on the issues.  If he gets a platform and sticks to it, he has a decent chance.  I would like to see a McCain/Bayh ticket for 2008, but I agree that the next pres. does have his work cut out for him.

Lou Dobbs left CNN to go be the CEO for a little internet type gig...they canned him because he didn't know his ass from a hole in the ground.

Something tells me if he can't run a small company, the USA might be a smidge big for his britches.

Well heck, LTR,

How many companies did our beloved Shrub run into the ground prior to taking on the biggest corporation in the world (the USA)  :)

Lotus, Lou Dobbs was on CNN tonight like he is every weekday night.
Perhaps LTR is thinking of someone else?

(That's because after he got fired from his gig he came to the conclusion that eating was a good thing and got his job back at CNN...he was gone for almost 10 months).

I think you should let Canada invade to remove the present tyrants and replace them with any two Canadian parliamentarians. You really do have WMD so cooking up an excuse is dead simple. You've been running our country by remote control since WWII so it's time we returned the favour in your time of need.

Canadian politicians are every bit as ineffective as American ones but they are more polite, bland and cheaper to buy off. Plus they are foreigners, which means they are easy to blame and can be disappeared if they dissappoint. Plus, this way American travelers with Canadian flags on their baggage would at least be telling a half truth. 0
