Both can be based upon eating disorders, so those who have them should be kind to each other and understand that unhealthy relationships with food plague many people and that does not make them worthless whether skinny or fat..

Hello A/all,

There are any number of medicines and medical problems which can cause or contribute to weight gain.  The ones that come off the top of my head include antidepressants, thyroid problems, diabetes, certain steroids, etc.

A person who is obese or rail thin may not have any control over their weight.  They might have a medical condition forcing them to put on/ lose weight when they subsist on a diet of celery and water.  When people criticize people who are overweight I have difficulty taking much of what they say seriously, in the same way I have trouble taking things seriously that are said by intolerant or ignorant people.

But that is just me, and I could be wrong.

Sinergy

And of course no-one's overweight because of Ben & Jerry's, Mc Donald's, Dominoe's Pizza, or Sara Lee's and no excercise!

If I was with someone that had such a deepseated hatred towards obese people I would consider it a major loss of ugly fat when I dumped their ass for it.

What I dont understand is why alot of people abused me on another thread yet this thread has not even copped anyone getting flammed.

ModEleven are you even reading this thread??
As you should be able to see all the personnal attacks on me in the other thread yet I bet i was the only person emailed and given a warning.

I'll get another one from this but when you an un-fair mod you should be outed on the boards,,,

You said all fat people should stop posting and go to McDonalds. That is one of the most offensive things I have seen leveled at fat people on this board, at least in the top 10. For some reason people think it is ok to attack people that are obese, and that includes the OP, whom I have seen do it over and over again. The threads that she started that were majorly snide and snarky about fat people have been scrubbed by the mods. I went to look them up to quote on this thread, all were gone, because she is that ugly toward people.

Personally I think you and the OP should get together... you seem made for each other, both have phobias of fat people...

Funny, I never recall saying for fat people to stop posting on the boards. I did however say that the fat people at munches that want to say rude comments to the op of the Vain thread to give the $5 to go to McDonalds.

Maybe people should read better. As everyone seemed to off skipped a few lines and words and thoughts when it comes to my threads.

Now this post is going to be edited and re-edited for awhile as I answer everyones comments. well most..

Karma is a bitch imtempted... one of these days someone maybe throwing you a 5 dollar bill and tell you to belly up to a big mac...I said this before, but I will say it again, life has a way of making us deal with our prejudices in a very personal way.. perhaps medication, a disability, just aging, but you may pack on the pounds yourself one day. About a year ago I took off 55 pounds I packed on rather quickly, I have been naturally thin my whole life, but I got to 35 and the weight just started coming on me. I have to run every day to keep it off.

Hopefully you will never end up obese, but if you do, self loathing is a pretty sad thing.

I consider bigotry an interesting topic, that should be discussed amongst adults.  I am not sure how it turned into a fat bashing thread, yet again.

We all know some people eat too much, that people starve, that people eat and throw up, that some exercise too much, or not enough... I don't think anyone can deny any of that.  We all also find different things attractive, outside and on the inside of people.  We are all different, and to me that makes the world more interesting.  What I can't stand, is those that hate for ANY reason, whether it's race, religion, sexual preference, social class, or weight.

I won't bash anyone because they are thin, or because they are fat.  I just hate when people are lumped into groups, not everyone with the same symptons, have the same causes.

Thank you, SirKenin... I think that size 14 does have a lot of sexy curves, and really..that all women, and men also..be they stick thin, or even fat have something about them to make them sexy.  It might be the eyes, or the legs.. perhaps the hair, or a smile, can make someone physically attractive.  Not everyone finds Angelina Jolie attractive, and not everyone thinks that Kirstie Alley was disgusting when she was bigger.  We like what we like, and we deserve to do that.. I just don't see any reason to bash the other side, no matter the circumstances.

Kasha, what is that term, "Bash?"
Is that like "Gay Bashing?"
That was if I'm not mistaken, a physical beating.
These type threads also seem to bring out the "Politically Correct" people and that's one of their favorite words to use if they sense that they're losing an argument. "Bigot."
I'll start a thread on that later.

I grew up skinny too. I was 6'0" in the sixth grade.I think I weighed 120lbs.
I grew up in a working class neighborhood in the Boston, Mass area and most of the other kids were skinny too from walking everywhere and probably not getting enough to eat in those days.
Also, we didn't sit around at computers or play video games after school.
It'd be more like swinging off a "Tarzan" swing that we made with a long piece of heavy rope that someone "found" or running from the cops.
I couldn't put on any weight to save my life. Lifted weights, played sports all of that stuff.
And yes I'd be called "Stringbean", "Pole Boy", "Rail Rump" and all the other things that they call skinny people.
I never really filled out until I got into the Navy and got "three hots" evey day.
In my graduating class(1969) of 1,900 kids maybe three were overweight.
Look at all the shit that the tabloids put that actress Calista Flockhart through a few years back.
They were saying she had everything from Anerexia to Aids.
But, they'd of course never say that that talk show host Opy? "OP" something or other ate too many pizzas or something like that!
So yes, there is a double standard!

We have a lot in common. I sprouted up fast and attained my full height of 6'0" just before I turned age 14... at which time I weighed 123lbs. We lived in a blue-collar neighborhood in Chicago.

I was gangly and awkward for a couple years. I also lifted weights, and ate anything and everything, whenever possible. When I graduated HS at age 18 in 1971, I weighed 135lbs, and thankfully had far more coordination by then.

I had heard all the variants of skinny names too, but it never really got to me. I just laughed along with them, and found something to poke fun back at them.

Now that you mention it, there were very few fat kids in my graduating class. I'm sure it had a lot to do with us being outside and active all the time. Plus, I think the food was far healthier back then.

Here I am today, 50lbs heavier than I was when I graduated HS 35 years ago. Oh well. At least I still have a 34" waist... though every now and then, my pants feel a bit snug...

As far as Calista Flockhart is concerned, I think Harrison Ford is one lucky guy. That woman always stirred my loins! ...

Someone on this thread mentioned breast size. Big breasts are okay, but it never really mattered to me whether they're big or small. I married a skinny woman who just happened to have big breasts. (Yes, they were natural. And yes, I know that's somewhat rare.) It used to drive her crazy that I didn't pay more attention to them than I did. It used to drive me crazy that everytime I turned my back, guys were hitting on her.

Anyway... I'm a leg and ass man. What can I say? ...

Besides guys, do you know what happens to big breasts when a woman gets older, especially on skinny women? ...

Now you Ladies with big breasts, don't shoot! ...

**congrats to imtempting for drowning out the original rant of this post**

Why thank you. Its nice when I can say a few words in a thread yet get everyone onto a different topic. So much power.

I am not the one to change the topic. Others did.

Well, as someone that has many gay friends and has lived around them all of my life, and is bisexual and was part of a gay relationship for over four years, I can tell you that "gay bashing" doesn't have to have anything to do with the physical.  I am not sure if you know this or not, but words can have a huge impact of people.  Outside wounds will heal, but inside ones can last forever.  That is what "bashing" means in the way that I used it.  You are going after someone for the way they are, be it sexual orientation, race, religion, size..whatever... you are bashing them mentally, or emotionally.  Fists can hurt, but words are just as destructive.

I am not saying anyone is a bigot.  I think that it's okay to have preferences, but it's not okay to hate others, or put them down because they are not the "ideal" of what you think a person should be.  I think that most people have things they like and don't like.  We just don't all go around yelling it from the rooftops, and treating people as outcasts.

I am anything but politically correct.  I don't agree with abortion, I have been known to vote republican and democrat, I am a Christian, but don't always agree with many of my faith, I will date a black man, a white man, an interracial person, I will sleep with men, or women..depending on my mood, I will say exactly what I think.. and I don't care if anyone agrees or not.  I am honest, not PC, and if someone doesn't agree with me on any of the above, that's fine and I will fight for their right to do so.

Personally Calista is cute, but Jodie Foster is more my type..the brains and the bod.  I guess I am a leg chick, though breasts are quite nice, but thighs and ass have to be what makes my mouth water.

Now, if we look at men.. I am really an ass chick, and a nice six-pack.. yummmmm

You mean you do not have to make junior high school statements about women with big huge titties to denigrate their body types in order to have your own preferences? I guess that would be called class and tact, imagine that, you must not be a pimply faced teenage boy, but  a mature person!

I think that size 14 does have a lot of sexy curves, and really..that all women, and men also..be they stick thin, or even fat have something about them to make them sexy.  It might be the eyes, or the legs.. perhaps the hair, or a smile, can make someone physically attractive.  Not everyone finds Angelina Jolie attractive, and not everything thinks that Kirstie Alley was disgusting when she was bigger.

Kasha, well said and clearly stated!
I just don't like that phrase "bash" or "bashing."
It's not correct in context and it's a "code" word to those anally retentive, "Politically Correct" jerk-offs.
Yeah, Jodie Foster is hot too now that she's older!
I never cared for her looks when she was younger though.
She REALLY got better with age!

Why the heck would us big breasted women want to shoot you?
I would imagine your wife will do that for us.
LOL

Personally Calista is cute, but Jodie Foster is more my type..the brains and the bod.  I guess I am a leg chick, though breasts are quite nice, but thighs and ass have to be what makes my mouth water.

Now, if we look at men.. I am really an ass chick, and a nice six-pack.. yummmmm

See, I can have my preferences also...I just don't have to make fun of someone else to do it.

Kasha

edited for spelling.. think I had my mind someplace else..damn Jodie Foster movie

You mean you do not have to make junior high school statements about women with big huge titties to denigrate their body types in order to have your own preferences? I guess that would be called class and tact, imagine that, you must not be a pimply faced teenage boy, but  a mature person!

Hopefully you took my statement in the tongue in cheek way it was meant.. lol.. I think you did though..

You mean my now ex wife. No, she didn't shoot me. She did better than that. She took everything I owned...

Let this be a lesson to all you male readers... always play with your wife's breasts, now matter how big they are! ...

I got it

My Daddy is not skinny, thank God, although I have dated men in the past that were skinny because I am more about the person than the package, but I got to say there is something dominant to me about a man that when he lays on me I can actually feel him pressed into me. He is trying to get his cholestrol down, so he may lose a few lbs, but he will still not be skinny.

There is nothing wrong with a preference, there is something wrong in denigrating other people because they are not your preference.
