Rush, how do you manage to fit your foot so far into your mouth?

juliaoceania -> RE: Rush, Fox, and Olberman (10/28/2006 8:53:48 PM)

Michael J Fox is a class act

I will not say anything about Rush, it is apparent what he is

SlaveAkasha -> RE: Rush, Fox, and Olberman (10/28/2006 9:04:49 PM)

I suppose if someone doesn't agree with stem cell research, I still don't see the reason in mocking him in such a way.  It's amazing how much the Michael J. Fox foundation has raised for parkinsons research.  I was reading something about the statistics the other day, and it was incredible.

There are ways to disagree, without making yourself look bad, taking the high road with an intelligent debate is one of those.  That is not what Rush did, and there isn't anything to be said in his defense.

I was listening when Rush made the comment (because Franken SUCKS) and he gave all the apology that should have been required when he came back from the station break.

Turning treating disease into a partisan issue....  Another reason I won't be able to give my votes to the Dems in 10 days.

You did not watch Level's video, it showed Fox endorsing Arlen Spector... um, he is a REPUBLICAN.. so you are the one assuming that Fox is a partisan when in fact he is not, he is advocating for funding for stem cell research and if you had his disease I bet you would take it every bit as seriously as he does, and if people would listen to you, well you would be doing the same thing he is.

You should watch the video before launching into a diatribe that is based on bullshit spew like Rush emits on a daily basis

So apparently in your mind Rush speaks the Gospel and you aren't interested in hearing the truth.  In 2004 Fox endorsed Arlen Spector - a Republican.  How exactly is this, then, a paritisan issue?  It isn't. Rush is trying to spin it into one, though.

By the way, have you ever known anyone who suffers from Parkinsons?  I have and the involuntary twitching Fox displayed is not exaggerated.  It looked to me that he was trying his best to contol it.

As Julia said,  follow the link in the OP and hear the truth before launching into a diatribe with no factual basis.

sissifytoserve -> RE: Rush, Fox, and Olberman (10/28/2006 9:53:11 PM)

Lush Bimbo was a creation mostly by Roger Ailes...who is now the President of FOX NEWS.

No suprises here.

The agenda is plain to see.

Support the neo-cons/republicans no matter how much evil they are commiting on a daily basis.

WyrdRich -> RE: Rush, Fox, and Olberman (10/28/2006 10:37:04 PM)

Nope.  I didn't click the link.  I'm not on a high speed connection and youtube takes for freakin' ever.

So what if Fox endorsed a Republican?  The issue is embryonic stem cell research and that has been made a partisan issue.  Since Spector wasn't thrown out of the party for supporting it, does that mean Republicans are more tolerant than Democrats?

Alzheimer's (with a mean streak) is actually more common among the eldest generation of my family, but yes, I have interacted with people struck by Parkinson's.  I'm not any kind of expert on either.

juliaoceania -> RE: Rush, Fox, and Olberman (10/28/2006 11:04:30 PM)

It isn't a partisan issue for Fox, it is a life and death issue. For Rush it is a partisan issue. If you are going to attack someone for being partisan, I think you are attacking the wrong person, Rush is far more partisan than Fox is... all I can say is WOW to your logic over who needs to be attacked for being a partisan over an issue, when it is obvious who is being partisan about something that shouldn't be. It is republicans that have made this a partisan issue because of the lunatic fringe base that supports them come election time, the same whackos that diagnosed Terri Schiavo via video tape

Well said.  It is not a partisan issue for Fox.  He endorses cadidates who support stem cell research regardless of their party affiliation.  In 2004 that was a Republican.  This year it was a Democrat.  So Rush is the one turning it into a partisan issue, as well as an ugly political attack with no basis.

swtnsparkling -> RE: Rush, Fox, and Olberman (10/29/2006 2:16:53 AM)

I was wondering when some one would finally make a post on this.
RL is disgusting

Well, as for me, I've found I actually never even need to see a video, read a story or even listen to anyone's specific opinion about Rush...he's a moron.

Plain and simple.

Level -> RE: Rush, Fox, and Olberman (10/29/2006 5:51:48 AM)

Rush has a lot of intelligence, he can be quite funny, and he can make a persuasive point, especially in writing (I guess the written form allows him a chance to think before "speaking"...)

But....

He can also be cruel, idiotic, arrogant, close-minded, and breathtakingly hypocritical.

Agreed.  For entertainment purposes though, he is the absolute best at what he does.

That's right Julia, anybody who sees ethical problems with medical research that involves grinding up dead babies must be some sort of lunatic.

It is a troubling issue that deserves serious discussion.  Instead, all we get is more "Republicans ba-a-ad" and variants of "you're mean."

juliaoceania -> RE: Rush, Fox, and Olberman (10/29/2006 6:56:04 AM)

It is cells in a petri dish

geesh

Edited to say, there is the whole knee jerk reaction trying to get an emotion out of a debate tactic... and you bash anyone that "whines" over the dead BORN babies in Iraq... total hypocrisy, love all the babies until their born, but if they are Chinese babies they can make soccer balls for Nike, and if they are ME babies they are all baby terrorist rattlesnakes...

I have no time to debate zealots

justheather -> RE: Rush, Fox, and Olberman (10/29/2006 7:18:41 AM)

I noticed during the last Presidential election campaign that the Republicans will scream "STEM CELL RESEARCH" and run out of the room really quickly when they have nothing of value to add to a conversation or debate, or have run out of scary things to wave in front of the American people.
I think they do it so that we will startle and pull the wrong lever.

Level -> RE: Rush, Fox, and Olberman (10/29/2006 7:20:11 AM)

Many millions of people oppose stem cell research because they believe they are defending human life. This is not a bad thing.

Many millions of people support stem cell research because they do not believe it results in human loss, but can save millions of lives. This is not a bad thing.

I am extremely pro-life, but I don't know what the answer is.

Both sides do a bit more screaming than I like, as opposed to open-minded debate and attempting to see the other sides point of view.

sissifytoserve -> RE: Rush, Fox, and Olberman (10/29/2006 7:34:20 AM)

Yup..and these same Pro-lifers are PRO DEATH when it come time for the government to decide who should live or die in criminal cases.
