Yeah, I found an old pic of my X. Why did I dump her? Well, judge for yourself.

[Mod Note:  URL to phishing site deleted]

Powerman40 -> RE: I found the pic of my X (11/2/2006 8:56:53 PM)

It wont allow me to view.

adommeforu -> RE: I found the pic of my X (11/2/2006 9:07:43 PM)

very funny Fnf, yes indeed, very funny......

stef -> RE: I found the pic of my X (11/2/2006 9:13:17 PM)

I hope no one is gullible enough to put their Yahoo username and password into that page because it's just a phishing scam.  Filling out that form and clicking <Sign In> emails your username/password pair to someone who will soon be taking over your Yahoo account.

If you did type in that info, change your Yahoo password immediately.

darksdesire -> RE: I found the pic of my X (11/2/2006 9:15:41 PM)

holy cow that scared the living day lights out of me.  Now i have to change my password?

FangsNfeet -> RE: I found the pic of my X (11/3/2006 4:42:31 AM)

Actually, I just used one of my BS accounts for looking up things like that. After all, Yahoo Accounts are free. There's no loss nor gain with that account.

darksdesire -> RE: I found the pic of my X (11/3/2006 11:47:38 AM)

If you knew this was a phishing site, why did you even post it?  that wasnt very nice

gooddogbenji -> RE: I found the pic of my X (11/3/2006 11:49:33 AM)

Or, at least, if you're going to do it, why not tell people that's what it is, so they know to use a fake?

Yours,

benji

amaidiamond -> RE: I found the pic of my X (11/3/2006 11:53:28 AM)

Well thats just a pointlessly irritating and inconsiderate thing to do...

purelea2003 -> RE: I found the pic of my X (11/3/2006 11:53:40 AM)

I've had My Yahoo account for several years. It's attached to a 360 page that I've blogged on for over one year. I'd be mad as hell if I lost it. I learned last year about phishing sites. Although I changed My password in time it also placed a nasty trojan & a virus on My pc. I ended up restorning My hard drive.

gooddogbenji -> RE: I found the pic of my X (11/3/2006 11:55:51 AM)

All in all, two thumbs down for this thread.

Yours,

benji

Yes and if you value your account as well as yours and those who are on your list's privacy, do it quickly.  Sheesh

MsKat makes an excellent point. A phishing site can send out messages with the link to everyone on your contact list! They think YOU sent it. I had to contact everyone and try to warn them not to click the link when it happened to me. Not to mention the follow up messages about the trojan & virus. Boy - what a bad memory this is!

darksdesire -> RE: I found the pic of my X (11/3/2006 1:26:39 PM)

i changed my password just a few minutes after i clicked into the site, so all should be well, but goodness, i wouldn't have known better had someone else not told me what i'd just done.    Definate two thumbs down, as i was indeed one of those gullible types who didn't know any better.

He likely didn't even realize it was a phishing site until I posted.  He's not exactly the brightest bulb on the tree.

I don't know how serious the IT BDSM scene is, since poker faced, dry as dust geek humour can be mistaken as something serious by Googler's.

But CAT5 UTP cable which is the duct-tape of network engineers, has been fashioned into CAT5 of 9tails floggers and used in place of rope to bind subbies to server rack cabinets.. So I wouldnt be surprised to find a few "use Internet Explorer and suffer!!" rules floating around the scene.

i.e. if all the loopholes that autoload crapware onto your PC when you surf, don't cause cuffering, then your Dom will top you up ;)

You don't need to hand out your name/password to a strange website to get into trouble, since a bad browser will betray your PC's privacy to the website that ask's it the right (wrong?) way

You may be right but notice, he did say that he used a disposable id to log in there... [8|]
But didn't post an advisory to the rest of the folks.

If I were a betting person, I would wager he used his regular Yahoo username and password but just wanted to come off as net savvy, when it's clear he's anything but.  As for him not posting an advisory (or apology for that matter) after putting others' accounts at risk, that's just another illustration of his character.
